After the GC Donnersberg, this place was also on our list on the Camper Tour 2022. Telephone contact was very nice (by the way the first and only male contact person on the trip) and helpful, no issue with the camper standing in the parking lot. We arrived in the evening, the road conditions were rather unusually narrow when we arrived, but everyone drives very carefully. In the evening we also had a delicious meal in the extremely modern and new-looking clubhouse. The newly "created" Blanc de Noir deserves a special mention here, you should have tried it!
The view of tee 1 and green 18 already promised a nice round, which we started the following day at 10.20 am. We were at tee 1 shortly after 10, but saw no flight in front of us or behind us, so it was a very relaxed and equally interesting round. The lanes sometimes seem quite narrow due to the trees bordering the fairway, but they are actually "normal" wide. Lane 3 then shows that knowledge of space is advantageous, it goes straight over the water with more water on the right, but there is less space on the left than you suspect or can see from the tee... Well, found the ball in the forest, chipped back to the FW and on went. At lane 6 there is a fairly short dogleg to the right, downhill, where you should hold back. With the second hit or the walk there, the view opens up to the rock face that has already been mentioned several times, a truly impressive picture!
Overall a great place, only lane 14 with a fairly wide tee over the water will be difficult to master for higher handicaps, but there is also a drop zone here.
Conclusion: great place that you should have played! I can well imagine that due to the many trees, there is a more pleasant climate here at higher temperatures than in many open spaces. It was pretty cool on our round anyway, so jacket on / jacket off was the order of the day...
The shower afterwards was wonderful, the women's changing rooms are said to be even nicer than the men's, I was told.

We had booked start times, but had arrived quite a bit earlier and were fortunately able to start at 10 am - friendly and unbureaucratically cared for by the secretary's office - and thus avoid the announced afternoon thunderstorm. The slightly hilly 18-hole course (cart not absolutely necessary) is 20 km away from the A61 a little south / west of Bad Kreuznach in absolute tranquility and nature not far from some vineyards. Surrounded by a lot of trees, most of the railways have an absolute parkland character. But there are also some water hazards and doglegs to master. Highlight certainly the 10 and 14 where you need to carry a certain distance over the water from the tee. At lane 7, after the tee-off before the second downhill stroke, the famous view of the rock face opens up in the dogleg (don't forget your camera), which is still a bit far away, but it looks like you're playing right in front of it. Some tees are a bit narrower, so that strategic play is required and higher HC should rather play from the front tees. The sometimes dense or high rough and the bushes make it difficult to find the ball if you miss the fairway. The lanes are basically varied. Occasionally there are also blind blows. The condition was good, the greens loyal and well-kept, even if a little too slow for my taste. The tee markings, just like the tee markings on the driving range (balls from the machine for tokens), should be moved more often, sometimes they were a bit worn.
