Set amidst the rolling Hills of Franconia, Golfclub Gerhelm provides a scenic yet challenging golf experience. Great care been taken to preserve the natural setting in wich this 18-hole Championship Course is placed. Professional landscaping and creative design have been coupled to produce a layout appealing to both the low and haigh handicap player. Constant attention is given to the care of the course with an experienced greenkeeper on-site 24 hours a day. The friendly atmosphere at Golfclub Gerhelm is also an important part of the experience, wich includes a Driving-Range, chipping and putting area, along with a fine restaurant for pre or port round dining.

Varied holes in the Hersbruck Switzerland region

The course layout pleasantly surprised me. The holes are beautifully integrated into the landscape, with ups and downs. This also means that the walks through the cooler woods to the next hole can sometimes be quite long. Our group played with carry bags in 28°C (82°F) weather. That was just about acceptable.
The fairways were very dry and yellow, the balls rolled far, even onto the green. I'd never before hit a slightly uphill 212m par 3 green with a 5-iron.
My signature hole was the par 3 at the back. 155 meters downhill, "island green." The greens (which aren't dry) are very sculpted and therefore difficult. Balls tend to roll out of bounds. 95 euros for a week at the country club would be steep, but there are always discount apps. There are electric vehicle charging stations and campervan pitches. The beer garden restaurant with Franconian food, like Schäufele (pork shoulder), is really nice.

Beautiful natural golf course

The Gerhelm golf course is a really beautiful, somewhat secluded course that is well integrated into nature, which is pure relaxation. In 2020, the system was in a very well-maintained condition! The employees are all super friendly and with the "Schäferkarrn" they have a very recommendable restaurant on site.
You have to play 2-3 lanes within reach of a street, but that is not a problem, as there is little traffic and if it is, it is mostly other golfers who want to reach the course.
