Go for the best of two..

Played both the courses on two different days. Go for the best and that is the Moselcourse. The Eifelcourse is kind of a par-3 course.
Nice course with long greens and nice views on your way. Sometimes a bit difficult to find the next hole. Clear signs would help.

27-hole golf club Cochem

Last July I was a guest at the Cochem Golf Club. I played the 18 hole championship course (Mosel course) and 9 hole par 3/par 4 course (Eifel course). Upon arrival there were enough parking spaces available and you were also warmly welcomed in the office. The driving range was very spacious, you could tee off from mats or grass. I also think it's good that it's located directly behind the clubhouse, so you can start playing straight after registering. First I played the 9 hole Eifel course, the way to the tee was well signposted. You always start from the mat, which I personally think is fine for beginners. Although the holes were generously mowed, they were still of a demanding level due to the well-placed obstacles and small, fast, hilly greens.
In the second part we went to the Moselle course, where things got much tighter on the first 9 holes. With acceptable height differences (distance markings of 100m - 200m are available) and numerous obstacles, you had to keep the ball well on the track. Fairways and greens were well mown. The greens had medium speed and were very stable. It was also nice that the bunkers were in excellent condition, edges were nicely cut, level and the rakes were stowed on stands. Half of the first 9 holes went into a narrower forest area, which created a nice atmosphere.
The second 9 holes were a little less spectacular in comparison. This is due to the slightly more open fairways, but should not be underestimated. Because in many places the tall grass waits for the golfer and swallows one or two balls. On the way to the 10th tee, I noticed a small putting green at the driving range, which I could have used to putt in before my first 9-hole round, as the actual putting and pitching green is located near the first tee of the Moselle course. This is also generously designed and leaves nothing to be desired.
Conclusion: I will come back because I noticed that, in addition to the good condition of the place, there was relatively little going on. So a little insider tip.

Beautiful golf course on the Moselle, above the city of Cochem. As Cologne residents, we spent a lovely weekend there.

Golfing Experience

We played the course (18 hole Moselcourse) at the beginning of September 2023. The facility has become very beneficial since the golf club was taken over. The greenkeepers do a great job here.
The club staff is very nice and accommodating.

Worth a trip.

We played the 18 hole Moselle clourse. Due to the many rains of the last few weeks, the place was lush green. Greens are in great condition! Place has a few meters of altitude, but still manageable on foot. In hot weather, a cart is recommended :-)

Great value for money. Paid 58 euros on a weekday.

Worthwhile visit

Yes it's right. The golf courses are all dry rather than wet. But you can still take a relaxed approach to the Moselle Course (18 holes) and the Eifel Course (9 holes for everyone). The fairways are still dry, but the greens are perfect.
The rough has just been mowed and there are fair conditions for one or more rounds of golf.
An incredible amount has happened and you can tell that the club enjoys developing this place. A visit is definitely worthwhile.

Super short course

We are currently doing a course to get a golf license and have been looking for a public facility where we can play and practice without having a license to play. We found what we were looking for at GC Cochem. A "short" place is the wrong term. Lanes up to 280 meters, super varied and perfect for us as beginners. A really great 9 hole course.
When we have the handicap we will definitely come back and then play the 18 holes.

Nice place near Cochem/Mosel

Had a nice 18L round that we conquered with a cart. Varied with some doglegs, however, found the rough very high, so that some balls stayed on the pitch.
Nice Secretariat, played with LeasureBreak 2/1 Booked with PC Caddy.
Price/performance ok

Beautiful golf course

We played here for the first time today. With great weather, we were able to enjoy our round on a beautiful golf course that is well maintained. Unfortunately we only had time for the front nine. We found this very varied and will probably come back next weekend to get to know the back nine as well.

Beautiful Place

We have played the course many times now and enjoy playing it very much. Unfortunately, the gastronomy is a disaster, you can easily sit there for 20 minutes without even a waiter making an effort

Not a nice day of golf

Unfortunately, the place is not in good condition.
Fairway already quite dry. Some bunkers quite sandless.
Space is also very strenuous to walk and not really varied / exciting.
Coming from further away to play a new golf course and are unfortunately not warned when registering that the greens are aerated and sanded. This work was also carried out during our round.
Were on an Eifel tour and have played several courses.
Wouldn't have played there if we'd known. Lost vacation day.
Too bad. After the good reviews, we would have expected something else.

Dear Mr Papillon0029,

Thank you for your rating and feedback. Of course we regret your impression of our golf course.
We would like to address a few points.
Our greens were not aerated that day, but a top dressing was carried out. Our greenkeepers have applied a thin layer of sand so that the greens are true and without bumps for the weekend (league game). This is a normal process that must be done.
The bunkers have now been refilled. Unfortunately, this has been delayed due to delivery bottlenecks.

We are surprised that you didn't really find our place varied/exciting. Many guests like our layout and the variety of the facility. So everyone has their own personal opinion. We also accept yours!

We would also have liked to have received direct feedback on site.

With sporty greetings

It almost doesn't get any better

We played here for the first time and loved the place.

The course is very well maintained, the greens are in very good condition and the fairways are very well mowed. The staff are very friendly and help immediately if you have any problems. We will certainly not have played on this course for the last time.

From Cinderella to Princess

It's hard to believe, the system is a gem. Fairways such as carpets, greens and without blemishes. You can see what "golf weather" and good care make. In connection with our vacation on the Moselle and the good overnight accommodations at the golf club (partner hotels), we were absolutely thrilled.
We can only warmly recommend the hotels, the space and the service.
Our next vacation in autumn is already set.

Developed from an insider tip to a favorite

In terms of landscape, the golf course on the Moselle heights has always been a real insider tip, but since the perfect greenkeeping and the new manager Jannik Oster, the golf course has developed into a real highlight for all skill levels. Anyone who does not yet know the Moselle and Eifel course at the Cochem Golf Club, or only knows it from before: It is worth it!

Great location and now finally a professional greenkeeper company

It is going up, you can see it clearly. The lack of water is becoming a real challenge for the operators. Has been worked a lot lately and the place will definitely need some more time until it is at a TOP level.
The location and tranquility are already great, many courses are a challenge. It's always worth it, but you should be prepared for wind and narrow fairways. Partially hard ground, so the balls sometimes jump in the "wrong direction".
Very nice environment, friendly staff and without long waiting times. Worth a trip at any time.

In the upward trend

Now that the club operates the course itself and has brought the GreenKeeping back into shape, it is not as bad as you think. The greens are of course difficult. Sometimes, however, also very quickly. Overall hard fairways, but is on the ground. The system as a whole is well thought out and offers some nice challenges.
Of course, if no one is playing, you have no money.

Very sad

We were very sad about the condition, the greens were aerated, but we paid the full price. The greens were 80% so damaged that about 30% of the area still had green grass. Most of the tees were completely brown. The overall impression was rather neglected. It seems that there is clearly too little water available. It's a real shame.

Positively surprised

Feierabendrunde on the first 9 holes of the Eifel course. Nice reception (redemption of a 50% coupon also possible for 9 holes -> 15 €). Start at hole 1. The place is currently well maintained, the brown areas, which were read in previous reviews, are almost completely regenerated. Greens very fast, especially from above the hole, the putts sometimes ran up to 3 meters beyond the hole. The rough is very dense, on the right of the course 8 even Hard Rough, there no chance to find the ball. Precise play is required. Overall, a nice experience with great views of the surrounding countryside above the Mosel valley. Birdie at the end of the 9! I'll be back to play the second nine holes!

Space does not meet expectations.

The course was in poor condition due to the long dry period. The fairways were just OK, the greens but a single disaster. Fairly, a green fee discount of 10 € was granted without being asked. However, there is only 1 star deduction for this.
Unfortunately, the layout of the tracks is not very exciting and after 2 days you will not be able to remember any lane anymore. The hoped-for great view is unfortunately not available. Only at 1-2 lanes you have a view, but the expectation is then rather a view of the Mosel.
The secretariat is having a lunch break, so a number of players had to wait to pay their green fee, others wanted to give back the rented cart and had to wait for the break to end. I know of no other club.
Overall, no wasted time but unfortunately no place you want to play a second time.

08/15 place

Played in May 2019 and songs for not too good.

As already mentioned by my prescribers, the place is located in a holiday village, which is mainly used by Dutch people.

The reception in the secretariat was friendly and I was able to start directly (weekday mornings).
The course itself was also in good condition - the fairways and greens mowed or greenkeeper at work. The roughs were very high, a spoiled ball hardly found in them. The greens looked visually more like Brown's, but were fast and consistent - again, no reason for criticism.

It starts with the very boring place design... up to track 8, where the gentlemen have to play over a 120 m long biotope from the tee I just missed a few "beautiful" fairways, which remain in memory. Even a view of the Moselle does not offer the "Moselcourse".
What disturbed me on the layout was that you have to train 9 about 500m long way to Teebox 10, which then runs back from track 14 to 15 again. Sorry - unnecessary game delay.
And also that the Halfwayhaus had closed was disappointing.
Last but not least a youth group, who exercised loudly on the training facilities between tea 1.15 and 17 - concentration at the tee unfortunately hardly possible.

Conclusion: if you are in the area, you can play, but a longer journey is not worth it.

Better than his reputation though

We were in October 2018 guests in the resort of Cochem. The place condition was much better for the hot summer than his reputation and really playable. The greens were even in excellent condition. It was annoying that we were unable to reserve a start time, despite an email and 3 messages on the answering machine came to our arrival no feedback. To get a start time on Saturday mornings, we stood at 9 o'clock at the golf office, which unfortunately opened only a little less than an hour late. We then got a start time of 11:20 and could start at 11:45 am. because then still three four-flight flights started before us. All in all, the office seemed understaffed and a bit chaotic.
We had fun on the court anyway!

Golf Resort on the Moselle

I have 30 May the 9-hole course (Par 31) and 1 June 2013 the 18-hole course (par 72) played. The courses are part of the golf resort of Cochem and recorded primarily by guests of the resort. Nevertheless, the game was relatively straightforward operation. The hilly terrain (normal sporty ambitious golfers do not need a cart) is 4 km from Cochem in the countryside at about 400m altitude. The seats are relatively open design so that even high HC should have their fun. For serious golfers, there are a few water hazards, well placed bunkers and doglegs. The Back Nine of the 18-hole course are a little more demanding and strenuous and partially through a forest, where the tracks are a bit tighter then ever. Although the maintenance state (especially the bunker) was not ideal, but due to the wetness of the last days still acceptable. If it rains a lot, the seats are blocked because the water flows slowly, unfortunately. On the 9-hole course can unfortunately only knock on every hole of artificial turf. The reasonable green fee, you pay at the golf desk right next to the park reception. Guests of the resort receive special rates. Start times will be awarded. Unfortunately, the reception staff is at 9.00 clock in the morning only, but it is busy until 20.00 clock. If you want to play early, you should reserve a tee time the day before. A really nice Marshall (greeting with a handshake and pulled back) to check whether you have paid green fee and gives useful information. Since the resort is firmly in Dutch hands, the staff at the reception is also mostly from Holland. Is somewhat inconvenient if the trainee present only locally face there on a holiday morning at 9:00 clock the rush of golfers and has to listen to the sensibilities of us golfers. This leads to delays. Who is taking a trip to the Mosel, this can be a round of golf here combine well.
