TERRIBLE - EXPENSIVE - BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE - AVOID

Booked a Tee time on Monday 25th May 2015 at 1100 hrs. Checked in with the Golf reception and paid €95.00 green fee and asked about course and was told everything was ok but busy. Also asked about any special offers as green fee was a bit high but was told there were no offers at the moment and that it was a public holiday and many members were playing. Indeed I played with 2 very nice Club Members.

Well - the course was so wet and muddy that it was nearly unplayable the fairways resembled a mud bog - you had to move your ball on every shot as most of the time your were in the middle of muddy water and a plugged ball in the middle of the fairway. I play off handicap 12 and have played golf all around the world and can say this has to be the worst course that I have ever played and paid such a high green fee for the pleasure of doing so. The only pleasure was the 2 club members that I played with who incidentally were very embarrassed about the condition and that we were charged the full green fee.

I spoke to the Golf reception when I completed the round about the condition and that they had failed to inform me as to the condition at time of checking in, giving me the decision whether to play in a mud bog or not. Needless to say the young Lady was not interested and said that was the weekend price and in her option the course was in good condition!!!

There are many beautiful Golf Courses around Munich but this is not one of them - so my advice take your custom elsewhere where you will be made more welcome, treated with a bit of respect and have a better round of golf - without question.

Top golf course, restaurant completely overpriced

Since the takeover by the new tenants, the place has been really great and a lot is being invested!
Has awakened from her sleeping beauty sleep!
Unfortunately, the restaurant is completely overpriced, schnitzel for 27 euros, spaghetti 16 euros, you want to get rich quick!!!

Everything perfect!

The BergkramerHof is under new management. Very nicely embedded in the landscape. Varied holes and manicured greens. Golfing is fun here. Outgoing and friendly golfers. Restaurant is first class. Diverse range of dishes at reasonable prices. Large parking lot. Very friendly staff at the counter! Everything is well maintained and that's how you imagine a perfect golf course!

Too bad!

Before the Bergkramerhof golf course no longer exists in this form, I really wanted to play the first pesticide-free golf course in Germany, which I did on October 10th, 2022.
The course is beautifully embedded in nature, with a great Alpine panorama. You have to be quite good on foot, as the course is partly quite hilly (at least from the point of view of a North German) and sometimes the distances from one track to the next are relatively long.
The fairways and greens were not in very good condition, which is probably due to the dry summer and the non-use of pesticides. The idea of nature conservation plays a big role on this site and I'm happy to accept small defects. The special place regulation that the roughs may not be entered, in contrast to some reviews, did not bother me. This is also a contribution to species protection, which should be clear to everyone.
It is a pity that the idea of nature conservation has not yet reached some golfers and they "only see their golfing" and do not appreciate the great ecological value of a golf course.
All employees were very nice and helpful. The rental club set that was provided to me was fine.
After getting to know this beautiful golf course, it is very difficult for me to imagine that next year only corn will be grown on this area. I can't understand why the community, the nature conservation authority, etc. didn't object, despite the water protection area. A PITY!

Idyll in the best location

The overall rather relaxed course is located in the middle of a nature reserve.
Old, natural vegetation and alpine panorama make the tour a great visual pleasure - pure pre-Alpine idyll!

Unfortunately, the greens were in a catastrophic condition due to fungal infestation - no point deductions for this at this point, as the club responded with a generous 50% discount.

Unfortunately, points are deducted for the gastro that didn't try, which closed the kitchen at 7 p.m., and for the incomprehensible local rule: The ball is 1m in the rough and the rule for a penalty zone has to be followed - that makes so little sense.

All in all, a wonderful facility, which we can only wish the very best for its uncertain future!

...very rustic...

...this course presents itself in terms of care.

The first pesticide-free course in the republic, since 2014, we have wanted to play for a long time. We know some who are developing in this direction, but so far it has not been possible without them.

We have already played a number of courses that Thomas Himmel has realized or renovated. There are a couple of very strong places on the list, but also some that we call middling. In terms of layout and challenges, this one is in the middle. The holes measure a little over 350 meters on average - back tees. Today the distances were even shorter - the drought was largely responsible.

On this Starnberg-See-Golf-Trip - seven courses were visited - this was the course that had to suffer the most from the drought. Many parts of the play area are very hard and dry, the sight wasn't always great - the water is missing.
The greens and pre-greens were fine - looked good - played well, even a bit too soft and too slow in speed.
The bunkers were okay, to play properly, tended to be too little material in there, also has an advantage - the state is good.

Overall, the maintenance is rather rustic, as is the vegetation on many fairways.

It is a long-drawn-out facility that makes a few walks a must. The moderate terrain transitions ensure a bit of sportiness - the place is easy to walk on.

Yes, the space regulations take some getting used to, but it's still okay. If a ball lands in the high rough, it can hardly be found and if it does, you can only play it after a mowing action.
The scorecard is a bit unorthodox.
The signs at the tee are partly upside down, we would rather have this information in a birdie book - which unfortunately does not exist.
A plan would be desirable that makes the course management visible, sometimes a bit confusing - especially at the beginning of the round.

Four stars is a very good rating for the location, the layout and the playful challenges, for the current condition three stars as an overall rating is very generous.

Nice and courteous staff.

On our own behalf and to the previous reviewers:

The cars don't belong on the fairways when it's wet, otherwise they would soon be broken, every golfer should be aware of that. In addition, driving on certain areas is very dangerous.

To date, 19 people have written reviews who have only written one. Five stars are from 8 reviewers, one star is from 4 reviewers. From our point of view, neither is correct - adulation or slander.

We therefore allow you to draw attention to our ABAMA rating - partly on our own behalf

Mediocre overall package

First of all - the site is in a really great landscape. I don't know anything nicer in Bavaria.

The course in general - yes, mine, a golf course like many others.
18 mostly flat fairways, reasonably maintained, fast and faithful greens, numerous but only average bunkers with partly concrete-hard sand, water comes into play a couple of times, good and meaningful signage.
The golfing challenges are within manageable limits, only hole 9 as a long par 5 with a tricky dogleg and hole 18 with green play over water have a higher demand. You just play down the rest of it.
Replacing divots and mending pitch marks does not seem to play a major role in this club, as does the speed of the game. On the second 9 it got much better, probably one or the other flight stopped before us. 4h 20min until sunset, was just enough.
The gastro no longer wanted us. We're closing now, it just said.

The organizational aspects weren't really perfect either.
We spontaneously booked a sundowner package "Coronaexpress" with 2 green fees, cart, sandwich and drinks for 99 euros as a Friday working week end in August. A very fair offer.
On the spot it turned out that the use of the cart was forbidden, in view of the rainfalls of the previous days a completely understandable measure to protect the space. But also no advance information about it when booking.
OK, we thought, let's just go on foot, luckily we had trolleys with us. But we were only offered a discounted green fee of 50 euros pp, without sandwich, without drink.
Still a good price that we were happy to accept, but why am I promoting a package like this?
And the whole procedure did not go off without the smug advice from the slightly grumpy, burly receptionist that we should be happy, normally the green fee would be much more expensive.
And if you look at the homepage - yes, that's it. 95 (!) Euros on the weekend plus an outrageous surcharge of 20 euros for long-distance members. For the place. Insanity! Nobody pays that voluntarily. VcG members have a general game ban. Awesome.

And last but not least - the absolute hammer are the new course rules, according to which without exception all (!) Hard roughs are declared as no-play zones.
This is euphemistically advertised on the homepage as follows: "The natural areas next to the fairway and semi-rough are neither used nor entered."
[...] "With the course rules at Gut Bergkramerhof, the player has the option to use a new ball at every border to the rough with relief (only 1 penalty stroke). This means that significantly more golfers can score scored results on fairways Time-consuming corrections such as running back or playing a"provisional ball "are no longer necessary and the frustrating"painting a hole "is much less frequent."
Sorry, but that has nothing to do with golf anymore. Where is the necessary game strategy? So you can of course play your handicap in tournaments. "Unfortunately" my better half liked the place very much, so I will definitely have to go there again at some point. I personally would give it to myself.

From my point of view, the whole thing is therefore not more than 3 benevolent stars.

Dear Seppuku, thank you very much in advance for the absolutely correct description. I couldn't have described the positive aspects better.
Then there are some points of criticism where we should do something better. But the carts are not allowed to go out when it is wet in order to save space. Advance information is clearly necessary. It is a shame that you have not seen our beaming Ms. Geigl. Men are often more material. Me too sometimes. But if you come again and tell us your name beforehand, we will receive you with joy, because you have to come back because of your wife, who liked it so much.
For long-distance members, we ask for a surcharge in accordance with the proposal of the DGV. Because the golf courses live almost exclusively from the loyal local members.
Our course rules, i.e. no entering the rough, are very much appreciated by our members and guests. The game is smoother. We use it to protect fauna and flora. What you didn't mention: We've been pesticide free since 2014. We even have barefoot tournaments.
By the way, we are proud of our "mediocre overall package". Your evaluation is arithmetically quite correct with 3 points. You give us a six, your significant other a one. Then the three will fit.
Warm sporty greetings
Your dr. Josef Hingerl

Darting greens

The place is wonderfully embedded in the landscape. Far away from traffic noise and yet easy to reach from the Munich area.
The first 9 lanes a little easier, the second 9 quite demanding.
The greens are lightning fast (in September 2020) and really great to play.
The fairways partly crossed with clover, which is still playable because the greenkeeping does a really good job. This is probably also due to the fact that the place is kept in good shape without the use of chemicals.
So really a compliment to the work of the greenkeepers.
You should be reasonably good on foot, because the fairways go up and down and the paths between the green and the next tee are sometimes quite long.
The practice facilities are good. The range is equipped with targets to be played. Putting green just as fast as the greens on the course.
Then we visited the gastronomy and were not disappointed there either. The food was good, the prices reasonable and in no way expensive.

Conclusion:
We give 4.5 stars. And only because of the partially existing clover on the fairways. But that could only be achieved with chemistry, which in turn violates the principles of the plant (and is also a good decision).
We'd definitely like to come back and play a few rounds.

The new greens are really terrific. But the rest of the space is also well maintained.

Finding the new rules with high rough without balls is really great. The layout has always been nice. Now the place is actually playing even better.

Super Site

On the 22nd of August 2019 and again on the 17th of October I played the Bergkramerhof with the renewed greens as a guest player (Hcp 28).

Although I do not live nearby, I play more often on the ecological golf course. He is for me by the generous design like no other place stress-free and beautiful to play. Besides, I enjoy the healthy there. Golf without chemistry and especially without pesticides always gives me a special sense of well-being.

On both matchdays, the new greens impressed me a lot. The greens were so immaculate in August and October that it almost seemed unreal to me. The beautiful uniform light green color of the greens will surely stay in my memory for a long time.

But also the well-kept haircuts, fairways and the rather short-cut Semiroughs have inspired me and motivated me to this place rating.

Since the friendly staff left nothing to be desired, there is a total of 5 stars for the "renewed" ecological Bergkramerhof.

A super nice autumn golf day at the Berkramerhof

We were once again for an 18-hole round at the Bergkramerhof, curious and curious, what has happened here so everything.
It was a nice and good round with very good autumn weather, pleasant temperatures, a spacious, spacious, varied and well-groomed beautiful place with wonderful autumn views. That was fun all around!
The club-Gastro we have visited thirsty and hungry, were wonderfully cared for in a nicely arranged club-inn and finally found in the very well-stocked Pro-shop also a real neat snapper.
In short: This was a great day of golf in a very nice and well-maintained club with relaxed-sporty atmosphere to feel good.
We will definitely be back for a nice new round!

This is a nice game

I played the course in 2018 and now on the 27th of September. Very pleasant surprise. The greens were completely rebuilt (was also necessary) and are now in top condition. What I also liked: All Roughs are now Penalty Areas and must not be entered. This generally makes the game smoother because the sometimes annoying ball search in the rough falls away. Although you continue playing with penalty, but has no distance loss.

What has not changed: The wonderful landscape with the often unobstructed view of the mountains and the complete renouncement of the use of pesticides in the whole place. After the tournament schedule, there are even "barefoot tournaments". Would be worth considering.

I will definitely come back.

The attempt of an objective evaluation Status: 13.10.2018

Running a golf course according to strict ecological criteria can be considered very positive. The location and the layout of the place may also be described as really successful. It really feels like being in nature.
The reception and also the starter (Marshall) - was a strawberry tour tournament - very friendly. You feel good.
The place was actually in good condition, if you omit the putts while playing. Ecology or not - the greens were simply catastrophic. Extremely many barren, sandy bumpy areas plus aerification - a pure matter of luck. A pity!
Our service in the restaurant was not exactly motivated.
Overall, a nice day of golf with a bit of a bitter aftertaste = just 4 stars.

Dear golfer, dear golfer first of all many thanks for the objective assessment. But you have to know that we had the offer 2 for 1 because of the aeration and the slightly damaged greens. Thus the place condition was priced in.
As a participant of the Strawberry tournament you did not know that. They had special conditions.
Incidentally, the results of the tournament were above average.
Since 2 for 1 is valid until the end of the year, you should just come back. After the aeration, the greens are then perfectly playable again.

A Cameleon as a golf course Within 2 months from "Wonderful" to "Miserabel". Which is the Fakenew?

I drove around since the beginning of May and can also confirm that I have not seen so desolate golf courses for 21 years. We are all struggling with the wonderful but stressful weather for golf courses. "Total excess money" we could not have lost Mr. Amical. No one has on 20.8. fully paid because we have the entire August 2 for 1 on offer, just because we are all so damaged. However, we have 20.8. presented a bill to a gentleman because he played without paying a year ago (Father's Day). But an identity with Mr Amical would be an extreme coincidence.

In addition, since the end of 2014, we have stopped using any chemical pesticides, which led to significant problems during the transition phase (the greens reacted like junkies in the case of withdrawal) in 2016. For allergy sufferers have no more problems with us. Our greens do not recover as fast after fungal infestation as after use of pesticides. In the medium term, we'll get that already.

Thank you Mr. Amical (which means something like friendly), that you praise our staff and the restaurant. That's our pleasure.

After this contradictory information there is only one thing: Until 31.8 the offer 2 for 1 use us to get an idea.

You are welcome.

Sophisticated, well-kept place in a great environment

I played the course in early November 2017 - despite the now cold and humid weather, the place is in a good and clean condition. One sees, of course, the greens of the hardships of the past few months, but there is also a significantly reduced green fee.

Especially from the white tea, the place is quite challenging to play; the course design quite tricky designed. The beautiful location of the place with a fantastic view of the mountains is only clouded by the latent noise of the adjacent highway.

In sum: recommended!

Dear Sepperl, Soo we are great not sure, but Bavarian, down to earth, European and cosmopolitan, never elitist, but in our nature somehow especially. For little players we even offer € 695, including DGV card. The decision to offer 9-hole memberships, was economically wrong. We must maintain 18 holes. There are also 9 hole courses, so that the one who wants to play only 9 holes, plenty of alternatives has.
We are in -almost weltweit- prime location. And unfortunately that costs more than in the Fichtelgebirge. As simple as that.
Our mission statement, movement, meeting, enthusiasm shows that we seek contact with others. Every Thursday evening there is an issue to discuss, literary, philosophical, political or golf and health.
Premium golf course is fair enough, but just in a broader sense.
Thank you for your contribution

Bad practice situation and overpriced

The place is very scenic, even if it's not that you can see the Alps from every hole. West wind at the A96 can be heard clearly. The bunkers were finally restored in part, but many are still like concrete. It also looks as if saved on mowing. Ill-advised it was obvious to rebuild the chipping green at the driving range at the beginning of the season. It is not playable until now (end of July). Thus there is no single way to train the bunker play. The driving range is indeed playable from two sides, but has a sink, which was nearby the forest of the page is not visible, where the ball lands when you hit it further than 130m. On each side there are about 10 tees, which is simply not enough. The beautiful children deductions from last year is gone this year also. Apparently you have no interest in the offspring.

In the catering staff changes every few months. According swaying are the food and the service. The prices, however, are salted, just as the green fees.

Despite much rain are the worst bunker that we have ever seen. And with the relatively very high green fees. We played better in Bavaria on manicured grounds and at a cheaper green fee. Also, the area made a very unkempt condition, as would any Greenkeeper work there.

On the evening of Sunday, we wanted to rest a drink and were then driven away from the club terrace. When paying at the bar we have noticed that an elderly lady said: Those who are sneaking out at last. When you ask, we have noticed that that was the club's board.
Great experience.
If it does not have to be, we will never set foot in this club or even a friend.

Top place and great atmosphere

When we were recently on the golf course Bergkramerhof, we were very surprised. The system is presented with a beautifully landscaped courtyard in a Mediterranean ambience. Very welcoming. In Sekratariat we were taken almost welcomed into the foyer. And also on the court everything was fine. The greens were in very good condition except for the the fairway 7th The prices are quite affordable green fees for guests of members. The restaurant is filled and the way we have come to enjoy the lunch buffet. For 8.50 euros per person it was even behind a cup of coffee. So it was a beautiful day of golf, despite the not so good weather.

Golfers

Very beautiful place.
Interesting fairways.
Greens and fairways are after the winter of 2010 in a very good condition, which is not true in very many clubs in the area.
Club restaurant leaves much to be desired, no menu for golfers and very expensive.
Office is very friendly only the green fee prices are one of the most expensive in the Bavarian countryside and are not warranted.

One of the most scenic places in Bavaria

Very different paths, very well spent. No hole is unique, gorgeous views of the Alps and Isar valley. The condition of the greens was in 2009 katasthrophal, you could only play 4.5 months at acceptable greens. Weekdays can be played with only booked tee times, although space is not occupied. The third most expensive club in Bavaria, green fee prices are not justified. Bad Club Restaurant and many intrigues among the members. Club management has no life in GRFF.

Dreamlike location

Very nice located place with spectacular views of the mountains from many holes. Sometimes long paths between the tracks. Even in summer, often on Feuchtigkeitsproble de fairways. The greens are medium to poor quality and have suffered particularly in 2009 under a long winter damage.
