TERRIBLE - EXPENSIVE - BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE - AVOID

Booked a Tee time on Monday 25th May 2015 at 1100 hrs. Checked in with the Golf reception and paid €95.00 green fee and asked about course and was told everything was ok but busy. Also asked about any special offers as green fee was a bit high but was told there were no offers at the moment and that it was a public holiday and many members were playing. Indeed I played with 2 very nice Club Members.
Well - the course was so wet and muddy that it was nearly unplayable the fairways resembled a mud bog - you had to move your ball on every shot as most of the time your were in the middle of muddy water and a plugged ball in the middle of the fairway. I play off handicap 12 and have played golf all around the world and can say this has to be the worst course that I have ever played and paid such a high green fee for the pleasure of doing so. The only pleasure was the 2 club members that I played with who incidentally were very embarrassed about the condition and that we were charged the full green fee.
I spoke to the Golf reception when I completed the round about the condition and that they had failed to inform me as to the condition at time of checking in, giving me the decision whether to play in a mud bog or not. Needless to say the young Lady was not interested and said that was the weekend price and in her option the course was in good condition!!!
There are many beautiful Golf Courses around Munich but this is not one of them - so my advice take your custom elsewhere where you will be made more welcome, treated with a bit of respect and have a better round of golf - without question.

Before the Bergkramerhof golf course no longer exists in this form, I really wanted to play the first pesticide-free golf course in Germany, which I did on October 10th, 2022.
The course is beautifully embedded in nature, with a great Alpine panorama. You have to be quite good on foot, as the course is partly quite hilly (at least from the point of view of a North German) and sometimes the distances from one track to the next are relatively long.
The fairways and greens were not in very good condition, which is probably due to the dry summer and the non-use of pesticides. The idea of nature conservation plays a big role on this site and I'm happy to accept small defects. The first pesticide-free course in the republic, since 2014, we have wanted to play for a long time. We know some who are developing in this direction, but so far it has not been possible without them.
We have already played a number of courses that Thomas Himmel has realized or renovated. There are a couple of very strong places on the list, but also some that we call middling. In terms of layout and challenges, this one is in the middle. The holes measure a little over 350 meters on average - back tees. Today the distances were even shorter - the drought was largely responsible.
On this Starnberg-See-Golf-Trip - seven courses were visited - this was the course that had to suffer the most from the drought. Many parts of the play area are very hard and dry, the sight wasn't always great - the water is missing.
The greens and pre-greens were fine - looked good - played well, even a bit too soft and too slow in speed.
The bunkers were okay, to play properly, tended to be too little material in there, also has an advantage - the state is good.
Overall, the maintenance is rather rustic, as is the vegetation on many fairways.
It is a long-drawn-out facility that makes a few walks a must. The moderate terrain transitions ensure a bit of sportiness - the place is easy to walk on.

The course in general - yes, mine, a golf course like many others.
18 mostly flat fairways, reasonably maintained, fast and faithful greens, numerous but only average bunkers with partly concrete-hard sand, water comes into play a couple of times, good and meaningful signage.
The golfing challenges are within manageable limits, only hole 9 as a long par 5 with a tricky dogleg and hole 18 with green play over water have a higher demand. You just play down the rest of it.
Replacing divots and mending pitch marks does not seem to play a major role in this club, as does the speed of the game. On the second 9 it got much better, probably one or the other flight stopped before us. 4h 20min until sunset, was just enough.

We spontaneously booked a sundowner package "Coronaexpress" with 2 green fees, cart, sandwich and drinks for 99 euros as a Friday working week end in August. A very fair offer.
