Tunning location, but absurd value for money and terrible course conditions
1.0 of 5 starsReviewed September 9, 2026
Stunning location, but absurd value for money and terrible course conditions ⭐☆☆☆☆Golf Sainte Baume is beautifully situated at the foot of the Sainte Baume mountain range near Nans-les-Pins. The course is relatively flat and, in theory, suitable for both beginners and advanced players, though low handicappers will find it a very easy track. Unfortunately, the scenic views do not make up for the current reality. For foreign green-fee players, this course is extremely EXPENSIVE at €125 for 18 holes, especially given the downright abysmal quality of the course. The fairways are in terrible shape in many areas due to heavy damage from wild boars, which are very common here. The greens are incredibly slow, with many featuring bare spots or complete patches of sand. Furthermore, the bunkers are rock-hard and filled with large and small stones, making them virtually unplayable. To make matters worse, the restaurant has recently closed, meaning there is no pre-round coffee or post-round food and drinks. With that in mind, the height of the green fee is nothing short of absurd! Do not think this high price is a strategy to deter green-fee players; this is simply a club on the verge of bankruptcy, with only about 200 members left. The course is only "appealing" for FF license holders (the French golf pass) or players who can get a discount through Resonance Golf. In short: there are plenty of much cheaper and significantly better-quality courses in the immediate area. Save your money and look elsewhere. A very well-maintained complex, embedded into a wonderful landscape, typical of Provence. Players of all levels will find their happiness here and the place is definitely worth the trip.

Somewhat disappointed.

June 2012:
The place has a wonderful location next to a mountain range. Due to this situation one has to contend with strong winds. However, we are disappointed by the fairways something. It just lacked variety. Our expectations were just too high. Suitable for players of all levels.
