Pleasant surprise

05/31/2023: Since it's been light for a long time, I just wanted to "test" a place that I don't know yet, hence my drive to Winnerod in the afternoon. You can get there quickly via the autobahn (near the Reiskirchener Dreieck), but you hear almost nothing from the AB on the site (I only heard something about lane 17). The clubhouse is in a basin and when I saw lane 1, I was still thinking about taking a cart. But I didn't do it to "earn" my food there. Was very impressed by the place and had not expected it at all. Generously laid out, on the mountain ranges you always have a great view of the landscape. The place was also nicely maintained. Had a nice 4-flight ahead of me. They would even have let me overtake, but I really didn't want to. I preferred to enjoy the landscape and let them show me the way to the next hole, especially since they weren't slow either. The place was also well signposted. After that I had a stop at the restaurant and my conclusion is: It was all a very pleasant surprise.

We played the course in May and we really liked it. Beautiful greens and manicured fairways. The bunker was partly under construction and was reduced in size, the sand in the bunker was unfortunately a bit small, as was the case with many other golf courses. The nearby motorway can only be heard on hole 3 and on the 17th tee.
The members and the marshal were very relaxed, it was just fun to run up and down the hills, especially on the first 9 holes.
The only real criticism is the driving range. The balls and the tee mats feel like they come from the last millennium. There is an urgent need for action here, especially when you consider the rather confident token price of €3.50 per bucket

A golf trip through the countryside

We visited the Golfpark Winnerod on the way home from our Denmark camper tour (www. Die-golf-camper. De, Denmark).
Winnerod was the perfect end. It is well located at the Reiskirchener Dreieck, which is why we played it two years ago. Apart from the nice people at the club and the very good condition (it was just a wonderful summer !!) the course is a prime example of how beautiful a course can be. It's like a hike through nature - and that doesn't refer to long walks between the holes, no, it just goes around the clubhouse in a really nice way. Up and down, those who like it quieter treat themselves to a cart. It was full, but ultimately not uncomfortable and in such an environment you can hang out and enjoy a few minutes before the next tee.
We rarely go out to eat after the round, but since it was the last round of our trip, we enjoyed the restaurant. Fantastic (evening) sun terrace, mixed food with an Italian focus, everyone will find something on the menu.

The greens were partially sanded (was announced), but even without sand they were not good. The place is fun, but space skills are very beneficial. Perfect greens and a very nice course design. Surely one of the most beautiful parkland course in Germany. I was on a Sunday in August in transit and had very short (1 hour ago) still reserved a tee time. I was very nice and friendly welcome in the ultra-modern clubhouse. Since time was a bit short (only 15 minutes), the marshal was called via radio and I was driven to tea. The place is already challenging, but can also play very well. Maybe the place is also a lot of players in good memory because the Par 3 to completion can end up with a good result?
