We played the course on 06/24/2022! The view was very nice from almost all tracks, which unfortunately we can't say about the place! The fairways for the most part an absolute disaster! The greens were mowed irregularly or the lawn was way too long and looked like well-mowed fairways. The greens on 2 lanes were so bad (burned and filled with sand) that the golf ball didn't roll, just jumped uncontrollably to the hole! All in all, we can not recommend the place!

What we particularly like is that everything is so relaxed and stress-free and that we can take our dog with us on the round. The gastronomy is also impeccable. We like to sit comfortably on the terrace and eat a birdie toast or the tuna sandwitch.

The place is very easy to reach via the B41 and the signage is so good that you don't actually need a GPS. The parking lot may seem small, but I always found a place( even when the hotel was busy. The secretariat is also the hotel reception and I found the friendliness amazing from day one. Everyone exudes joy here and the feeling is taken away then with on the round.
A little below the hotel grounds is the driving range - some tee mats, but no covered tee boxes. A small chipping area (including practice bunker) is also located in the hotel garden, as are two putting greens, which correspond well to the later greens on the course.
To the first tee, it's about 150 meters along a dirt road and then the first par 3 is waiting there, on the right a clear out of bounds and on the left a dense bush, so only one thing helps - play straight and attack the green about 110 meters away.
Then it goes slightly up the slope to tees 2 and 3, already here the gaze begins to wander into nature and that then continues to the last hole.
The Greekeepingteam does a really great job here - clearly recognizable fairways, clean tee boxes, and precisely cut and filled bunkers with fresh sand convey a lot of fun and let the ball roll in the direction of the fair to play, but already well undulating greens. Kudos here, really!

Played on December 16,2020. Imagine it is the first day of the second corona lockdown in Germany, it is a sunny December day and in NRW all golf courses are now, nonsensically, closed. You then drive to the neighboring federal state in Rhineland-Palatinate, look for a nice place, even with summer greens, where guests are not undesirable even in Corona times. I found this place in Bad Sobernheim and even had it almost to myself. The course is not too far away from the A61, west of Mainz near Bad Kreuznach, on a hill in the middle of nowhere. If it weren't for the nearby B41, which you can unfortunately hear and see clearly, it would have been in absolute peace and nature. Due to the altitude, many of the lifts offer a wonderful view of the Nahe valley, when there is no fog or mist! Carts are offered, but are not really necessary for those with normal sporty ambitions, even if the way to the first tee and the way from 10 to 11 are a little longer. There are one or two steeper climbs, for example to the tracks 2/3 and 4/12, but it is not a mountain goat. The facility is connected to the Hotel Maasberg Therme Nahetal. There is no clubhouse! You pay the absolutely reasonable green fee at the hotel reception. As a hotel guest there is of course an additional discount. Non-hotel guests can receive discount vouchers from the Golfalbrecht or with the Golffeecard. A surcharge for golfers without a hologram is not charged in a thankful way that promotes golf. Since the hotel is currently more or less closed, I was probably served by the trainees, who were very nice and friendly and explained everything to me. I had reserved a start time in advance by telephone, but I was probably one of the few guests on the square that day. At least I only saw a single other player on lane 13 on the 4. I suspect there are few members and the place lives from the golfing hotel guests. Respect for keeping the course running in the situation, definitely not easy! The condition of the place was absolutely in order for the season and situation and better than many other member places. I cannot confirm some of the bad reviews from previous years. Yes, the hotel may have a small renovation backlog (TIP: change the carpets), as far as I could tell from the lobby and the manageable number of bunkers (mostly rather small) on the square have no gleaming white fine-grain Caribbean sand, but fairways, Tees and greens were absolutely fine. The greens are certainly a little smaller than "normal", but often tricky undulating but absolutely true. On a couple of greens the lawn was, for whatever reason, more brown than green, but that wasn't a problem. The layout of the place is rather unusual. It starts with 2x PAR 3, whereby the first tee, like a few other tee boxes surrounded by tall trees, is rather narrow. Although most tees are quite open, higher HC should take a few extra balls with you, as thick bushes devour warped balls when you are not off the tee. It is not without reason that the course has a relatively high standard despite "only" PAR 70. After the ascent to tee 2, you should also take the tee-off next to it on track 3 over a biotope, so you don't have to climb again. In the further course you play an extremely large number of doglegs (I counted at least five with almost 90 degree angles), here knowledge of the course is required, as sometimes blind and then possibly too long hits are difficult to find or lie in the adjacent fields. In some places you get the impression that the space was expanded / lengthened not so long ago through field acquisitions. At least my GPS did not recognize some orbits. The rating also seems to have been changed, as the specifications on the tee board were often different from those given on the scorecard. Incidentally, after 9 lanes you are not back at the hotel, but at the other end of the course, so that a 9-hole round doesn't really make sense if you don't take a shortcut somewhere. There are some interesting and tricky holes where strategy is more important than length, for example 18 (PAR 3, increased tee) where a ball-swallowing pond lurks in front of the green. I can absolutely recommend a rather unusual but varied round in Bad Sodernheim if you don't expect a well-designed and manicured place, especially since guests are absolutely welcome here!

We played with a group of the golf course at the Meuse mountain and it has us very well fallen.
