Two great rounds on this course

A lovely welcome at the clubhouse from staff and members. The course is lovely, with varied holes and lots of interest. Fantastic views of Sancerre on the hill and Loire river. Greens are in nice condition in the main, though bare and damaged in a few places. Course is quite lush and well maintained. Water hazards add interest to some holes. Beware hidden bunkers! Phone to book a tee time because it is a popular course for visiting societies. We found first thing in the morning was the ideal time to play. We will return!

Simple place with many water hazards

We were on 11/09/18 an 11-hole-round and on 10/08/18 an 18-hole round on the course Golf du Sancerre.
We were welcomed in the pro shop. Even a previously booked by phone start time, we could move without problems on the spot for half an hour to the rear.
The driving range and the other "Pratice" were great to use.
The place is flat overall and without hills. This blemish was offset by skillful placement of water hazards. Most tracks are straight. There is only one dogleg. But almost all greens are in an elevated position, about 1.5 meters above the fairway.
The tees and the greens were unfortunately not in good condition. The local greenkeepers have apparently not changed the tee position for a long time, so that the tees in many places had no more grass. On some greens there were spots with cracked ground or holes. Not good for putting. On some tracks was tried by Ondulierung the Faiways to create a links course.
The great view of Sancerre and the play along the Loire will still attract us to the square.
The service at hole 19 is very courteous and friendly. But you should reserve a table before the round, if you want to eat there after the round.
