Not a single bad hole

There are not that many golf courses around the world without any bad hole, but Golf de Wimereux is absolutely one. On vacation in France we took the opportunity to play this hidden gem. Even if we didn't make any reservation in before we had our tee time in 40 minutes of arrival. This golf course is amazing, the wind is a part of the game, the rolling fairways ard hard, the peat bunkers are steep and the green areas are very nicely undulated. All together a really nice links course and we will be back.

Hidden gem

Played here April 2014. Superb greens, great clubhouse. Thirty mile an hour winds but still well worth the visit.

Golfing on the Opal Coast

A brief preliminary note: We played the golf courses of Wimereux, Hardelot (Dunes), Tourquet (la mer), st. Omer and Belle Dune on 7/26.
We were received very warmly everywhere and had little stress during the game because there was usually a large distance to the other flights.
We can't comment on the restaurants, as they usually close around 4 pm, leaving only the bar open after that. What a shame!
For golfers who, like us, want to play several courses, purchasing a golf pass for the Opal Coast is highly recommended (€375 for 5 courses), considering that the two top courses alone charge a green fee of €150. Unfortunately, the prices listed on this page are no longer current and have risen exorbitantly in recent years.

Now, about the course itself: There's not much to add to the previous comments. You just have to adapt to the local conditions: no high-scoring shots because the wind is constant. A typical links course with a sandy bottom but no large dunes. However, there are plenty of beautiful views of the sea and coastline. It was fun!
