Lolivarie golf

Very few courses local to Sarlat, one has closed, meant we had little choice but play this course. Very friendly people and green fees were reasonable, eu44 per person. Course is v. tight though and quite long in some holes, it punishes wayward golf and is a bit of a slog. Overall not bad though.

Very nice golf course

This is a good golfing experience. Nice layout with some tricky and very interesting holes. Water comes into play regularly. Some greens are small or narrow, so although its a moderately short course it is certainly challenging. The setting is lovely with lots of Willows along the streams and around the ponds. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Ignore the one star reviews.

Good holiday golfing experience

I am astounded at the other reviews of this course/club. We have just spent 4 months as (Australian) temporary members of this club and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We did not expect a championship course so were not disappointed. With only four ground staff the course is maintained surprisingly well. The fairways do struggle during the hot, dry summer and the bunkers are few and lacking challenge. However, the terrain is very pretty and many holes provide plenty of challenge. The manager and staff are friendly and welcoming. If ordered in advance you can get a great lunch at a very good price.

Expensive, uninispiring and not in good condition

This part of the Dordogne is deservedly popular as a holiday destination. Golf de Lolivarie is one of the only golf courses in the immediate area and for this reason does extremely well from holiday traffic. It wins purely by default. In a visually extremely attractive area the course stands out for being visually unexciting. At the end of the round you would be hard pressed to remember more than one or 2 interesting holes. Many are very similar and it just becomes a dull slog. A very tight tree bound course where accuracy is at a premium. It is not easy to score well, but the course is so uninspiring that you just look forward to the round ending. The second nine is marginally better. To add salt to the wound it is very expensive in summer - about €70 per round, barely worth half of that. Not in great condition, the bunkers are very poor too. Only worth playing if you are desperate for a round.

Good practice facility - place without surprises

Better to play Aubazine or Souillac than places nearby! They are much more varied! But good training opportunities!

Only because of the friendly people at the club house is not worth the way. Boring and very unkempt space of about fairway bunker (!) To the greens.

Better not! September 2012

On the golf course you can play a maximum cross-golf.
The place is very well maintained, dried, wild boar fencing defective
and then also expensive. Worst place in the Perigord
