Shortly forgotten.

The last few holes are spectacular and interesting. Otherwise the course is forgotten shortly after you have left it.

Happy!

Had a very enjoyable round this morning. The brief description on this website is very accurate. I have played 8 different courses in the area over the last 10 years. This is the best bang for your buck. Excellent & true putting surfaces, overall perfect fairways and rough. I walk & carry my bag all over the Côte d'Azur, this was fairly level with varied vistas. Everyone I encountered were very friendly from receptionist, caddie master & greens keepers.

Fairly nice

Played this course twice over the past 3 weeks. Quite nice, not overly complex. Beautiful view on surronding hills of Opio and Grasse. Course is realively flat and if you miss a teeshot you might end op on the fairway of another hole. Unless it is in the rough. Then you may not find it. Well maintained and fast greens. Be careful with routing, you can quite easily mix-up teeboxes.
Missing driving range to warm up. Playing early in the morning, I really needed the stretch first, but had to go for it on my first shot. Takes a couple of holes to get into the groove.
Friendly staff.

Not worth It

Played The Course July 2013.
Basic very short course with very little to think about.
There are only 2-3 holes worth mentioning, 15th and 18th.
Money is better spent elsewhere.

Nice golf course in beautiful surroundings
4.0 of 5 starsReviewed May 2, 2024
I cannot fully understand the somewhat derogatory assessment of previous reviews, as we played this course in April 2024 and found no such complaints. I have no interest in playing the most difficult courses on vacation (I can do that at home). The course is very beautiful and almost flat, embedded in the landscape. From many of the holes you can admire the mountains with their stylish villages in the area around Nice. The flow of the game was impeccable when we were there and we had almost nothing to complain about during our visit. One drawback, however, was a huge construction site with the corresponding noise. The entire area from the parking lot to the terrace of the golf restaurant is currently being renovated. The work is scheduled to be completed in summer 2024, so that in autumn you will be able to enjoy the wonderful view of the green of the 18th from the terrace. We can definitely recommend the course, although the green fees are standard for the area at around € 100. If you book online, you can also find cheaper tee times.

Simple vacation place
3.0 of 5 starsReviewed September 23, 2019
The place is located below the village Châteauneuf de Grasse, is simple and ideal for beginners and seniors and popular. Therefore, the game flow is not always optimal. But it is important that there is also a place for these players. Sometimes you hear the church bell ringing over the square. Despite the high frequency, the system is in good condition; the greens are reasonably fast. Everywhere in France we close the restaurant - for lunch - at 14:30, which is different than in Germany; you should be prepared for it.

Boring maze
1.0 of 5 starsReviewed May 4, 2019
The good, the greens were in good condition and cut short enough to get decent speed. The staff is courteous and helpful. The routes to the next t-boxes are well marked. great for golf beginners and most seniors resp. veterans. The basic requirements would be given. The bath, super boring. The tracks are criss-cross. Close your eyes, you can not lose a ball. Short distances to greens. Driving range non-existent, (chipping in a pond or hitting the net). After the round we wanted to eat something small, restaurant closed at 15 o'clock! Therefore, the price paid was far exceeded. I think a good architect could make something of it.

Simple but nice
4.0 of 5 starsReviewed June 25, 2018
A relatively easy place in my opinion with few challenges. For this reason, you can play here a relaxed round and have fun. But I would always prefer Opio-Valbonne, especially in the vicinity and at the same price.
The food was really good and recommended in this club resto too.

Relaxed Golfing
4.0 of 5 starsReviewed May 16, 2018
If you want to play a relaxed round of golf in a beautiful, rather flat parkland, is right here. It does not matter if you have a low or higher handicap. The individual fairways offer, apart from 3-4 exceptions, no major problems. The various bunkers and water hazards rarely come into play. At the end of the round, hole 19 - with a beautiful view of the golf course - invites you to linger. However, a commentary on this place would be incomplete, would not be mentioned even the barely existing training options. Is it because of the lack of terrain? In any case, it is a good idea to at least mentally internalize the strokes before the game...

Spacious golf with miniature practice area
4.0 of 5 starsReviewed April 4, 2018
Easy to play place with wide fairways without too many obstacles. For the fast greens are sophisticated modeled and not forgiving. The place presented itself in the week before Easter in a good to very good condition.
Surrounded by the hills and mountains of the expiring Alpes Maritim, it sometimes plays with a magnificent panorama.
However, a missing range, the miniature chipping area and the small putting green hardly allow a real warm-up program.
4 stars, because you can not forgive 3.5. A 3 would be unfair.

Scenic, rather simple
3.0 of 5 starsReviewed September 19, 2017
Have played in August 17, rel. simple place with beautiful views, unfortunately the fairways were very dry and often without grass growth due to the dry summer that it is different, St Donat showed golf nearby. The greens were good, no driving range, practically no training, for the condition of the place too expensive

Beautiful open space,
4.0 of 5 starsReviewed October 5, 2016
Like a gigantic landscape bowl nested tracks. Interestingly articulated by different groups of trees (poplar, pine, sycamore, cypress etc). Well maintained fairways. Harmless bunker, however (location-related) filled with sea sand, with which I personally do not get along. Huge Drive landing zones, surrounding up to Killer's hole 15. Fantastic landscape with mountains and villages, great if the Kirchtumglocke Chateauneuf sonicated the whole wide valley. Here you can regain faith in your own game.
No driving range, small putting green, badly arranged tee network at tea. 1
Pro store focusing clothes. Friendly. flexible staff. Restaurant has to evening. Played 25.9. + 01/10/2016.

A worthwhile place
4.0 of 5 starsReviewed May 12, 2015
The course was in excellent condition maintenance. It's fun to play there, because it is not particularly long and difficult. You can run it well, but there are often long distances between the paths to overcome. The staff is very friendly.

Beautiful golf on the Côte d'Azur
5.0 of 5 starsReviewed August 5, 2013
During our vacation in southern France we have played this course two times. At first glance it appears to be very simple, but it has its pitfalls. Difficult positions of haircuts, water, lots of bunkers and greens all heavily defended. The course was in top condition. There was a lot of fun to play here. Super value.
Highly Recommended.

Very nice place on the Côte d'Azur
4.0 of 5 starsReviewed June 8, 2013
We played the course twice in our Suedfrankreichurlaub. The place is absolutely flat and run very well. The 18 beautiful golf holes were in an excellent state of maintenance. Very beautiful fairways and absolute Topgruens. Would play the course at any time. Clubhouse a bit long in the tooth. Staff in store and in the restaurant very friendly. Overall an excellent price-performance ratio.

Good place, nice facility, sophisticated
4.0 of 5 starsReviewed December 31, 2012
30.11.2012: Very good value for money. For € 75 you play a beautifully landscaped site, showing his teeth, especially on the back nine. The place is beautifully surrounded by gently rolling landscapes, is maintained and also makes the eye Freudt. Of the white space is quite challenging sometimes difficult even if generous landing areas hardly swallow a ball. In any event advisable.

Always worth a round of golf
4.0 of 5 starsReviewed August 24, 2012
The de la Grande Bastide looks at first glance simple, but it is not. It is beautifully nestled in the typical Provencal countryside. He has not too large differences in height, but some holes are quite long. The many bunkers as well as water hazards require their toll. Again and again have beautiful views of the surrounding countryside and the "villages perchés". For me, hole 18 is the most interesting, because after first longest possible reduction strategy leads only to a low score.
The staff at the reception is friendly and clubhouse. In winter, the place in several places is very humid in the summer the heat is in the very shallow level. Some bunkers could be better maintained. The green fee is comparatively low on the Côte d'Azur. The proximity to the perfume capital Grasse says you can also sniff out the appetizing smell of vegetation.
The place is always worth a round of golf.

Bunkers everywhere :)
4.0 of 5 starsReviewed July 17, 2012
Great views and beautiful Mediterranean vegetation. At first glance, this place looks very simple. But the short game is the many bunkers and hard to read greens but then challenging than expected. Beautiful clubhouse. Baguettes were brought forward to the course.
