Founded in 1925 during the Roaring Twenties, Le Golf Club de Fréhel offers an authentic links experience on the stunning coast of Brittany. Located near the majestic Cap Fréhel within the Sables d'Or les Pins resort, this 18-hole course winds through a preserved landscape of sand dunes, heather, and maritime pines. The sandy soil ensures excellent playability year-round. While the trees offer some shelter, the coastal wind remains a strategic factor. After the round, the clubhouse terrace provides a relaxing setting to enjoy the seaside atmosphere.

New clubhouse, neglected course

Played in September 2024, the new clubhouse is beautiful and impressed us when we checked in. Very friendly staff, but then the horror began. The range, including the balls, was completely run down, hadn't been cleaned for weeks. The tees were unkempt, the fairways were barely recognizable as such, the greens were a complete disaster. There were signs everywhere saying natural course, please do not enter. A terribly unkempt course and the 53 euros was an outrage. Level of farmer's golf on the green meadow. Never again.
