Very impressive

I just recently visited the golf resourt. I was amazed how well the course was maintained and how fast the greens were. And the course is still young. But above all, the renovated Schloss is astonishing! I can recommend it highly.

This is a truly unique golf-course: nice on the eyes formidably situated and the elevations are marvelous; Often thinking the incline is rather steep, I was riddled at the speed of the ball at these locations. Very good variations throughout the different holes. Water hazards are present but avoidable. I have visited the course 5 times and will hopefully return when I have business near Berlin. The hotel and staff are excellent.

Golf at the Castle on the Polish border

Played on 8/13/2022. The absolutely flat 18-hole golf course with the castle/hotel is approx. 12 km from the A20, just behind the Brandenburg state border. It is not far to the Polish border and so you can see one or the other car with Polish license plates in the parking lot. Only at lanes 10 to 12 can you hear and see a car on the Dorfstrasse, otherwise the facility is in absolute peace and nature. To get from the Autobahn to Krugsdorf, you drive through the town of Pasewalk and can stock up on some food there before or after the round. First of all, it should be said that there is "only" the 18-hole crane course here and no other 9-hole course. A 6-hole course is shown on the score card, but I didn't see it and there is no mention of it on the homepage either. The place is operated by the castle administration. At the reception of the Schlosshotel you pay your green fee and receive the score card. There is a driving range, but it is a bit away from the parking lot/lock on green 1/tee 2. You need tokens there. There is a machine that changes euro bills from €5 into corresponding tokens. About the place you can say that from my point of view the tracks were not created monotonously by the design. On the contrary, I found them varied. There are doglegs, water hazards, relatively few but well placed bunkers. On the 8th and 17th you have to play over a moat before the green. I also found the layout of one or the other stone wall interesting. The absolute challenge is the extremely high rough on the right and left of almost all fairways. However, since most of the fairways are relatively open, only extremely twisted shots are punished accordingly with ball loss. What was a pure disaster is the condition of the fairways. Not only that there is hardly any irrigation, the fairways were bone dry and brown almost everywhere. They were also extremely overgrown with dandelions. They were playable, but it wasn't nice. However, the greens were almost without exception impeccable and the bunkers were well maintained. The haircuts were rather mixed again and only partially watered and therefore green, albeit partly with clover instead of grass. And the paths between the tees were rather bumpy and suboptimal. You can book a start time on the homepage (could be better and contain more information, e.g. a specified table), but I didn't need it even after a previous request by e-mail (was answered quickly). The number of golfers on the course at my game on a sunny Saturday afternoon could be counted on two hands. And so I was able to start playing on my own as soon as I arrived. However, I was surprised when I suddenly saw two triple flights on lanes 10 and 11, which apparently had started on lane 10. But I was let through immediately without hesitation. The green fee is currently €60.50 for 18 holes every day, so very cheap for a weekend game. For 75 € you can also solve a daily green fee. There are no sundowner discounts or similar, but there is also no surcharge for golfers without a hologram on their DGV ID card. By the way, the rather busy lady at the reception didn't even want to see my DGV ID. Of course, the castle also has a restaurant. But I couldn't use that because a wedding was taking place at the same time. In the basement of the castle are the sanitary rooms, which have been modernized at times. Overall, a recommendation could be made if the fairways were in a "normal" condition, but the condition is currently rather borderline and a further journey "only" to play golf here should be considered.

The place was unfortunately in a pretty poor condition in August.
Trees (very few) and bushes have grown a little in the ten years since it opened - but it's still essentially a bare meadow. (You can like it, but you don't have to - it's just a matter of taste.) Individual tracks are hardly remembered, they are very similar - you look for real highlights in vain.
The rough is "deadly", but mostly very far away from the fairways and also set fairly as a "penalty area". The tees are OK, the bunker edges are rough, but the bunkers are easy to play due to the very good, loose sand.
HOWEVER:
The greens are incredibly bumpy and have a completely inconsistent speed. In addition, the flags are often put really unfairly in a slope, so that it either means "middle of hole, ball falls" or at least 2m back put.

We were for a weekend in castle Krugsdorf for golfing and relaxing.

The offer includes Tagesgreenfee for 3 days (including the day of arrival), 2 B & B and once a 3-course menu and once barbecue. The whole thing for a really amazing price, so we said in the end, we just try it. It can not be that bad.
The journey in glorious weather leads through Vorpommersche landscapes, hilly with already quite brown meadows and fields on which the straw wheels are scattered, as if Dalí has designed a landscape - beautiful.
The arrival in Krugsdorf Friday evening around 17 o'clock and we were already positively surprised, how beautiful the castle (in the past probably a mansion?) Before we were surprised by a wonderful dinner, which we took on the very cozy castle terrace, the 3 course menu turned out to be extremely delicious and wonderfully prepared. The service in the castle is just as warm, friendly, very attentive and almost familiar, but rarely did I feel so well cared for.
At the same time, the Pro asked us for an information evening, the following day (Saturday) was supposed to be a night tournament, to which people were specially arrived - with a glass of sparkling wine, we were informed about the game (only from 17 o'clock a 9-hole Tournament, then grill buffet, and from 10pm, when it gets really dark, a 5 hole Texas scramble with illuminated balls on illuminated 5 fairways). Sound was tempting and included in our weekend package. So we decided to participate. Altogether there were 6 flights to 3 persons each, so quite manageable.
In the hotel many Scandinavians (Sweden & Danes) and Germans, overall the hotel was quite well visited. Opposite the castle there is a modern guest house with other rooms. There is also the breakfast taken.
At about 10 pm we went to our room and spent a very warm night despite the open window - well, the summer of 2018 really has it all.
The breakfast in the guest house was rich and adequate, from the scrambled eggs with bacon and sausage to fresh fruit everything is there what your heart desires. The only drawback here - for coffee lovers is the automatic cover from the Nespresso machine rather nothing, both the cappuccino and the latte macchiato are much too hot and too bitter, that goes elsewhere much better. The place is flat and easy to walk, overall it was a wonderfully comfortable round with very interesting and beautiful tracks!
Back on the castle terrace, there was a refreshing drink and nice conversations with other guests before retiring to be fit for the evening. Before the tournament there was a strengthening (the apple pie super delicious, the iced coffee as well, and here in the castle, the coffee tastes very good!). From 17 clock we were then allowed to try the second 9 against Stableford, the respective result should then be supplemented with the group result of the night golf Scrambles to select a winner. After less than 2 hours we were back on the terrace, where a sumptuous barbecue buffet awaited us, we beat our bellies fully and waited for the darkness.
