Characteristics
This golf course, which is open since 1993, is situated within easy reach from the Bremen motorway junction. The landscape is characteristic for a location at the edge of the Lüneburg Heath. A visit of the city of Verden, which is known for its cathedral and its horse riders, is worthwhile even for someone who doesn't play golf. Many of the 18 holes are slightly undulating and lined with woodlands, others feature skillfully-arranged water hazards. A 6-hole course will extend the club's offer.

In July 2026, we played A/B once and B/C once, thus playing all the holes. We found the course very beautiful and it was also in good condition. The young man in the clubhouse was super friendly.
The greens were excellent and the water hazards were nicely placed. We would definitely play it again if we are in the area.

Dry fairways

During prolonged droughts, the fairways naturally dry out. We can't expect them to be watered constantly. Golfers have to rethink this and accept the circumstances. The club does everything it can to keep the tees and greens in good condition, but every club is powerless against a lack of rain.

...finally played Verden on a recommendation this weekend. Conclusion: okay! The reception and the catering were good and friendly. The course itself is good, but apart from the tee boxes and the greens, nothing is green anymore. The fairways are almost completely brown, withered, sandy, bone-dry, and rock-hard; the bunkers are rather so-so. The greens are good and rewarding. In such a condition, the fun for me is reduced to almost zero. ...a course with tons of potential, but unfortunately not like this. ...sorry
