Today, Tuesday the 16/7, I drove to look for Trieste Golf Club. There was no sign anywhere but we managed to locate the club because a local kind soul offered to show us the way after he heard we were looking for the club.
When we reached the entrance to the club, the gate was closed. The local gentleman, who showed us there explained that the club is closed in Mondays n Tuesdays. That is what we think he says as we don't understand Italian n he doesn't speak English.
The club looks like it has not been maintained for years.

This course is not a golf course. Only the greens are ok. Otherwise gravel, stones, unkempt. I played the course 3 times in autumn 2020 and will definitely repeat it many times in the future! I can't understand the negative reviews, especially since the course is beautifully built into the landscape and combines a 'nice game' with a characteristic karst nature experience. What I particularly like is that the course remains exciting throughout - every hole shows its own image, after every green you look forward to discovering the next new hole. The color of the fairways is probably a bit karst and not in a lush checkerboard pattern, but they are very playable and forgivable throughout; the greens are in very good condition and also relatively fast, which adds to the tension.
Conclusion: 5 stars for all those who are looking for a varied course and enjoy golf instead of measuring blades of grass.
By the way: Contrary to some other opinions, I found the staff in the club and in the restaurant to be extremely friendly and attentive!
