The course still has interesting, varied holes and is in average condition. There was not much to complain about with the old rates. That has changed a lot recently: previously 1350, now 1900 czk. Seniors 1500 czk. Seniors' day Tues. and Thurs. 950 czk. If you have a voucher book, you get the most expensive rate and then half of that. It makes a big difference whether you pay with crowns or euros. The reception and restaurant are businesslike. You don't get the feeling that you are warmly welcomed. First things first. Thanks to Albrecht Golf Guide, we included this course in our travel plans, because we like to be accompanied by our four-legged friends. We stayed at Cihelny Golf and Wellness Resort. The golf receptionist recommended us to play Sokolov as well. A tip that we will always be grateful for, because this course has an exciting layout and is a lot of fun to play golf. The wide fairways also allow drives away from the ideal line. The fairways were like carpets, the greens were in top condition and the tees were very well maintained. Mowing was done around the bunkers during our round, so the bunkers are also maintained here. That golfers are too lazy to rake the bunkers - well - etiquette doesn't seem to be known to everyone.
The previous reviews report of unfriendliness. I can not confirm. At the reception we could speak German instead of English. The fact that the staff in the restaurant didn't understand German and sometimes only a little English - isn't a problem, it's a problem of our time. Finding employees also makes everything more difficult in this industry and sometimes the demands of travelers in a foreign country are just too high. In any case, we were served very politely.
Playing this course is pure joy. The handicap rating was surprisingly high for us. But on a good day - you can definitely play your handicap if you strategically plan the individual lanes beforehand. We hope that we can play this beautiful course again, because the street noise is not disturbing.

The third stop on our tour through West Bohemia, at the end of April 2022 with the motorhome, via the most beautiful golf courses in the region, was the Sokolov Golf Club. A big compliment goes to the obviously very committed greenkeepers. The Terain offers a very varied game, because of the hilly and partly mountainous landscape, there are some impressive height differences to be overcome. This makes the round across the square a challenging experience with a few special highlights.
For the quality of the course and the value of the experience, the price-performance ratio is very good here and there was also a special season opening discount.
