Old nice course

Very challenging, hilly cause. It takes a lot of thought to get a good score on this course. There are a few particularly challenging holes (5,7, 11). The maintenance could be better, because sometimes there are too many flowers, so the ball cannot be seen well. The reception is fine, but the restaurant is closed, which is too bad, because the surroundings are very nice.

Country golf

I completely agree with "Ettwood's" description, especially regarding hole 5, which is essentially a disaster. Extremely narrow, blind, and difficult—par-ing this hole is almost impossible.
The course seemed very rustic to me; the fairways had more weeds than grass, and the rough was more like a meadow of flowers. I lost a few balls in the rough because the excessive amount of white flowers made the ball hard to find. The tee boxes didn't look very attractive; the bunkers were filled with dry, hard "sand," unsightly and unplayable.
Greens relatively fast and true to the line, but with clearly too much moss and several bare patches.
Very nice hole 10, a par 3 towards the castle, as well as the 11, a dogleg steeply downhill, with water in front of the green, and the 18.
The path from the 13th green to the 14th tee is steeply uphill; we were picked up in an old bus and taken to the 14th tee.
The layout is okay, the course maintenance is a bit lacking, but still 3 stars for the layout and the courteous staff!

Great place unfortunately the necessary care is still missing

We received a very friendly welcome and based on the reviews beforehand we immediately decided to rent a cart. This decision was vital for our survival 😁. The paths between the greens and the next tees are often long and steep!
The course is challenging and not suitable for beginners. Unfortunately, the sand bunkers were unplayable. However, the greens and fairways were absolutely playable and you can see the efforts of the greenkeepers.
With the necessary care, this would be a dream course! Except for the 5th hole... a long par 3 would certainly have been better here.
The restaurant in the hotel is perfect but the clubhouse was unfortunately closed.
We will definitely come back!

…if it weren’t for the care!

We stayed overnight in the hotel (Foresthaus, everything renovated). It was very, very quiet, not many guests! Nevertheless, the staff are always friendly and extremely committed. Breakfast in the castle, everything is kind of cool. The course is a mixture of forest, woodland and parkland course! It was laid out very interestingly. Hole 1 is nothing special, from hole 2 onwards the course becomes really challenging and beautiful!
The tracks lead past huge sequoia trees and the castle wall.
If the place got the care it needs, it would immediately have 4 stars.
Nevertheless, go there and play, the investment problems are indeed visible.
Ps.: Without a car the course is not playable in summer….

Goat Square

Front 9 unkempt. Hole 8 (Par 3), in which one does not see the flag and there is no direction post, is an impertinence. Back 9 better. Nevertheless: a place for goats, chamois and ibex.

Mixed

The back nine are undoubtedly decent golf courses, which can not be said of the first. 9 The hole 5, for example, requires that one of 200m a not visible from the tee area the size of a bath towel meet because inaccurate then you have a second shot into the green of the 290m long doglegs.. unique (bad) ..Cart and bug spray highly recommended. On 08.26.2015 the state of tees and fairways, the greens was questionable, yet somewhat and the friendly staff at reception and in the restaurant, finally rescues the third star.

Difficult golf course in delightful surroundings

Very exciting and tricky holes in a stunning setting amidst an old castle park. Hilly, zumTeil narrow fairways that require a precise game of golf, to achieve a good score. The relaxing surroundings, not to mention the friendly staff, good restaurant and the castle herliche Mocrice always invite you to a round of golf or a golf holiday.
