Competitive and narrow
5.0 of 5 starsReviewed August 26, 2019
I hiked today 16km an then decided to play round. Golf course interested me quite long time. Family owned business something like Adamstal. Since first step in clubhouse I was very warmly welcome. They offer all the training places from driving range just next to parking lot and 1st tee. I love those mountain courses. They are not easy but has soul. Course is kids and dogs friendly if you follow etiquete. Front nine start with easy par 4. Than another par 4 become more challenging. Bring your accurate game here. Fairways are everything but not flat and wide. Always surrounded by trees. Quality of fairways is about right. Green and juicy nou drought. Some spots are not top notch but thats OK. Greens are perfect. Fast nice fairly ondulated. On front nine I like hole number 3. Holes are quite hilly like number 9 next to club house. Back nine is even more challenging. Starts with easy par 3 and than crazy par 5. Best holes for me are 3,2, 15,16,17 signature hole. I was only disapointed with one thing. I rent elektro trolly and battery dies on hole number 13, than I have to push;(. Nevertheless the great price performance value for the fee they charge. Will for sure come back one day.

Tight and tricky

Firstly this was the best restaurant of all the courses that we played in the area, so dont forget to have lunch. Compared to St Vigil and Dolomiti, the holes appeared to be a bit more jammed in but there is plenty of opportunity to use the driver. Another walking course, with beautiful scenery, but a good test of golf, with greens in generally goid condition. If you are in the area, play it.

An excellent choice

An excellent location, a panoramic and technical medium/hard course, the beauty of the Dolomites, an excellent restaurant, the courtesy and politness of the owners, the competence of the local pro make of this course an excellent solution for a fantastic holiday.

Precise golf
5.0 of 5 starsReviewed August 22, 2023
You don't have to be a long hitter to master this beautiful course, but be precise! It is often important to hit the correct side of the fairway so that there are no trees in the line of play. Also, the balls fly 5-10% further because of the height of the course. The condition of the course is also very good, the paths and bunker edges could be a little better
My rating was between 4 and 5 stars, but the club restaurant was just too delicious

Beautiful forest course
4.0 of 5 starsReviewed May 21, 2023
Unfortunately bad time caught! The place was mowed and the greens worked on. The mowed grass was damp and stayed put. As a result, the fairways are not good. The grass was sometimes much too high. Interesting place with many doglegs. The putting greens quickly become dirty due to the grass on the shoes. Straight and tactical play required. Luckily we walked with an e-caddy, more strenuous than expected. But we would play it again with the acquired course knowledge.

Great place, challenging due to the many trees and differences in height, but not unfair. You can leave the driver in the bag for most holes.
Fast and directional greens. It's green everywhere, no matter where you look. Panorama was great, especially the colorful trees next to the fairways were a real eye-catcher

...very quiet in the forest...
3.0 of 5 starsReviewed July 29, 2022
...is this course, with some beautiful views. You can often enjoy the panorama of the South Tyrolean and Trentino Dolomites.
Only the journey gives you an idea of what to expect - it's uphill - on the high plateau.
According to our information, this is not only the oldest golf course in South Tyrol, but also the highest 18-hole course in Italy - at 1,250 meters above sea level - only Alta Badia (9 holes) is even higher at 1,700 meters above sea level.
Lively up and down, with numerous sloping exposed - partly miniature - greens await the players. The course does not need many bunkers to ensure target golf, the terrain and the sometimes narrow fairways ensure this.
Good layout with lots of variety.
It is not a course for the driver, the holes measure less than 300 meters on average, long irons and small woods are enough to create a good par chance.
We really liked the greens, well maintained and easy to play - good speed.
Overall, this facility has a lot of catching up to do in terms of course maintenance. The many brown areas - also bald spots - partly due to lack of water on many fairways cloud the optics noticeably. The mowing cadence was also a topic of conversation, not all tees and fairways were freshly mowed. As is usual for such courses at these altitudes, the vegetation is often very different and rustic - very good on individual fairways.
A course that you can play well on foot, the temperature was a few lower than in the valley with well over 35 degrees.
Two were under, two deposited a few balls, but still had a lot of fun.
Good gastro with a rich menu and nice staff have led to a "forgiving" conclusion.
Everyone has given three stars, four would be possible, but the maintenance should be far better - five stars don't stand a chance - are more like sympathy ratings for us.
The Golf Guide Award Ranking List never ceases to amaze us, yes the preferences are very different, so is the golfing experience... this facility doesn't make it onto our continental list.

Nice course with very interesting holes. I liked that you could play the course tactically very differently due to the not too long length and the many doglegs. A beautiful view is also not neglected. Staff friendly and club restaurant is also recommended.

Beautiful, but not easy to play
5.0 of 5 starsReviewed July 10, 2022
The place is really interesting and well maintained!
Some holes are difficult to play, as forests often lurk on the sides. The greens are also mostly well defended (and fast!) Those who are not in good shape should rather take a car, as it sometimes goes up and down. The staff are friendly and competent - you can feel at home here

When it's hot downstairs and stays cool upstairs
4.0 of 5 starsReviewed June 30, 2022
We pilled the place for the 1st time today and are... really excited. The reception is very friendly and nice, you feel welcome! The tracks are in perfect condition and the greens are perfect.
You should take the time to "pause" at least once on the round, the calm is noticeable and simply limitless!
But back to the square. It has (as already mentioned) a lot of doglegs. The layout signage of the individual holes is perfect and causes few problems!
If you like it a little cooler, you should play this course in summer...! In the valley below it was over 30 degrees hot, in Petersberg (1350m above sea level) it was pleasant with a light wind.
We'll be back, M & St

Very nice, very friendly welcome and lots of doglegs
4.0 of 5 starsReviewed October 30, 2021
I played the course in autumn - at the end of October - in wonderful weather. The reception at the front desk was extremely nice and friendly.
Overall, the place was very narrow, very woody with many doglegs. Unfortunately, almost nothing of the mountain panorama can be seen here, as there is forest around the railways. The fairways were in good condition and the greens were relatively fast.
Apart from the PAR-3s, almost all tracks are doglegs. If you play the course for the first time and alone - like me - you face some obstacles: Sometimes blind tee-offs mean that you don't always hit the right side of the fairway. In addition, the balls roll through the often hanging fairways in places where you would not expect them. Especially with the many PAR4s you have to - if you want to play the PAR play in the bend to have the chance to meet the green with the second. Sometimes I also managed to take a short cut across the trees. Since the greens are kept quite small, it was still difficult to hit the green.
The driving range is relatively narrow and not particularly long, but sufficient. However, there are only relatively few tees available - if it is full, the tees here could quickly be all occupied.
The course is relatively flat - for a place in the middle of the mountains. Cart is not absolutely necessary, but in some places (up to the 10 and up to the tee of the 15) it is quite steep to the top.
Overall, I liked the place, but it is a bit too narrow for me (I hit relatively far but not very precisely). I therefore prefer somewhat more generous fairways. In addition, the lanes are sometimes difficult to assess when playing for the first time or without the support of an experienced flight partner.
I also missed the view of the surrounding mountain panorama a little. The gastronomy is said to be very good, unfortunately (as I had to continue) I didn't have the opportunity to test it...

Were there in early June. Beautiful alpine place at 1300m. Fast greens and well-manicured fairways. The architect had a preference for doglegs, but that is also a nice change from other places. Few bunkers, but a lot of forest that loves to devour balls! Nice staff, even got a birdiebook as a gift.

There is nothing to complain about. In high heat in the valley below, I can escape here and play at pleasant temperatures.
The staff is friendly and the restaurant is very good, although the prices are a bit higher than in a normal restaurant.
If you want to play here earlier than June, you will find some swamp.

No more etiquette..
3.0 of 5 starsReviewed October 11, 2019
Actually, we like the place and always play it when we stay in the crown in Aldein.
On 17.09. We started around 9:00 clock in glorious weather and freezing temperatures. There was nothing going on in the square, a relaxed round started.
Around 10.13 clock we come to the "10", a par 3, in front of us a four-women's flight, obviously started on the "10" - a bad habit of recent times, which is spreading everywhere. Nevertheless, a golf course starts at the tee "1" and a flight on 4 drying sets (before that were 4 of the kind) is a start at the "1" at all reasonable. Since the ladies did not know etiquette and could not play golf, we finished the game at the "11".
This club will never see me again!
I give 3 stars nevertheless, because the place, at least the first 9 holes are golfing and visually very beautiful. the second nine are rather karnickel.

Beautiful Place
4.0 of 5 starsReviewed June 5, 2019
At 1100m altitude is the GC Petersberg, again a place with some ups and downs, still reasonably good to walk, but again and again with many slopes.
The place is relatively short, but because of the design of the tracks should be stuck with most of the players of the driver. Straight tees are because of the sometimes narrow aisles in the forest the drug of choice.
Supposedly two weeks before there was still snow, that would at least excuse the not so perfect condition of some fairways and greens. Always nice views, tricky designed greens, was fun. In addition a friendly receipt and a recommendable Gastro.

5.0 of 5 starsReviewed October 10, 2017
The place was skilfully built in a very beautiful landscape. There are perhaps too many lanes with doglegs, but this is quite a change to conventional places. A precise game is called for, since a missing of the playgrounds usually means the end. All greens have to be played exactly, since these are mostly increased and rather small. Good condition for early October. A friendly staff and excellent cuisine complete the experience.

On the way to the Garda Lake we made this time an intermediate stop in South Tyrol and drove to the golf club Petersberg. We called on the way and we immediately informed the available start times. Since we wanted to play in pairs, we were immediately pointed out that later on the morning several 4-way flights start and we should start shortly before them.
The place was in excellent condition, greens perfect and fairways juicy green despite the hot summer. The nature is impressive, you feel like in a natural park.
The food and service at the club house is the best thing we have ever experienced on a golf course.
We will certainly come back soon, next time hopefully for a par day. Thanks a lot and see you soon.

Sorry you were disappointed in our place. We opened the place on April 15 and also always pointed out that we have a reduced green fees start of the season, because the place is not completely green because of the winter. Yesterday we had -5 degrees and at these temperatures many repairs are not possible. I find it strange that you rate a place without the fact to take into account that the space after the winter break can be played back only been two days and on which you have paid for this very reason a greatly reduced green fee. You can be sure that the place after several days of rain and warmer temperatures again in perfect condition within 1-2 weeks, as our members and guests are accustomed to.
We would appreciate if you would then convince yourself.
Criticism of the driving range I unfortunately do not understand.

Sorry you were disappointed in our place. They were on the 2nd day after the winter break with us, where next door was still skied. We have all members and guests pointed out that you can play from April 15, the fairways, greens and tees but are not yet in perfect condition. Beautiful scenery, interesting, varied and well-maintained paths, perfect service.
Many doglegs, sometimes left, sometimes right, sometimes down, sometimes uphill, sometimes shorter, sometimes longer to bend, it is never boring, especially the panorama changes frequently. The railways always require a deliberate kick. Device this is too long or too short, or take the wrong side of the fairway, the blow to the green difficult is (unless your name is Bubba Watson). The greens fast, well maintained, but well undulating and challenging - here threaten Dreiputts.
Green fee rates as everywhere in South Tyrol Unfortunately proud.

Petersberg, nearly 5400 m (yellow), opened in 1989 and becoming the first golf course in South Tyrol. A well-kept place with partly panoramic, but not the madness mountain panorama of other places. Nevertheless, nice views. The site has sometimes climbs but everything is still in the moderate framework. However, currently extremely damp / wet. The definitely wettest place of allen5. Courses we played. Nevertheless, surprisingly, charts could still be used!!! This place is characterized by the many doglegs. Good maintenance, sometimes a bit tight but never unfair. Of all played courses of the least spectacular. 5.0 of 5 starsReviewed May 4, 2013
We quickly played the first 9 holes after a long winter and lots of rain in the preceding weeks in one night and still were of the "total package" absolutely thrilled. The Secretariat pointed us to the same place on the still wet out and offered an unsolicited substantial discount because of non-optimal state to place. Super! (As bad as it was but did not know you could almost everywhere play well without adverse effects, only the grass was, although freshly mowed, sometimes quite high.) The place is very varied, no two holes are alike, with a mountain course quite small differences in altitude. A golf cart is probably not necessary in the summer, you can run everything and there is plenty of shade. The numerous doglegs you can abbreviate happy again because the balls did not stop flying because of the altitude (1200 masl). There are woods, water, and some bunkers, manicured tees and greens and magnificent scenery. The place is never unfair, you have several different ways to play the ball with more or less risk, because of the current forest everywhere you should just be able to just play balls, then the length is of secondary importance.
We were also thrilled with the friendly, attentive and helpful nature of the staff in the Secretariat and in the restaurant. Everything we have been eating and drinking on the terrace of excellent quality at reasonable price.
We will definitely be back and then play the whole place!

As for the dog ban, I have had other experiences here. Not that I have anything against dogs, but there are dogs allowed. This one should be deleted from the assessment.
As I said, all in all a good place. Not only in July / August.
