Not an exceptional place

We were a group of golfers who played this course a week ago.
It's beautifully embedded in nature. Nothing spectacular, except for the tee shots around the lake.
The greens and fairways did not make a good impression that day.
Partially unmown drive boxes, semi-roughs where the grass disappears and much more.
The restaurant was recommendable and very friendly.
I was able to stay one night with the motorhome without any charge

I had resumed golf in 2019 after a long break from work. The place in Lutzhorn was the first one I went to again, because it is a public place where everyone can play and I was not yet a club member again. The club is certainly not an exclusive club in Hamburg, but a club in which the game is in the foreground. Green fee is paid in the simple pro shop or deposited in the mailbox and the start time is reserved via a good old ball spiral. For me more than okay, in this nonchalant club it's just uncomplicated in every way.
I like the place surprisingly well. Not particularly difficult, a few waters and a few Aus are the biggest challenges. Spectacular are the lanes around the lake (biotope), which requires two tees to carry over a good water distance. In addition, on the edge of the mostly wide fairways there are unplayable roughs (or natural meadows), which are, however, very often set as water, so that in tournaments the search and the need to go back is significantly reduced.
I now like to come back to Lutzhorn every now and then and also play tournaments from time to time. I've always played with very nice members. I also find the club catering to be a solid place for a little refreshment after the round. Since it is a public square, it can of course always be the case that rather bloody beginners get lost in front of you on a round that is pretty slow. Nevertheless, I didn't have any problems with it and was always let through (not of course, some of them don't even know the etiquette rules). If you want to decline at the time of the sunset tariff, it can unfortunately be quite full.

Played at the end of May 2021, were pleasantly surprised, the course is very varied and scores with great fairways in quiet nature with beautiful trees, halfway rest area very nicely laid out, good gastro with friendly staff and decent food at fair prices. It's not a classy club, but it was really fun to play golf here, the condition was also good - we'll definitely be back.
