Only eight kilometres away from Lugano this course offers a varied and demanding parcourse with many water hazards, narrow fairways and a lush vegetation. The river Magliasina crosses the course and in seven different places you have to play across it.

Played golf in good amount locations around the world so my perspective is pretty wide. Lugano is one of the courses you want if you have to play it over and over again. Extreme variety testing your whole game, length, precision, draw and fade both ways, short game, carry, it has everything. Due to that, very difficult to shoot a good round, e'thing has to be on but on the other hand, you are never bored. No blind holes or unfair punishment however so the course hands you back a fair but stern scorecard. wonderfully maintained and in bloom vegetation is stunning. Restaurant is nice & for CH reasonably priced. Rounds if not member decently expensive but it's CH for you and one of the nicer clubs, if you want to save $ and don't care for the quality, drive over to Italy. Staff are Ticinesi, hence extremely friendly unless you make a point of being very German or English @ which point in time you may end up being served off brusquely as a brute so behave ;-) In short,

The Lugano golf course is beautiful and exceptionally well-maintained. The grounds are a dream, and the greenkeeping deserves high praise.
Unfortunately, our experience as guests was very disappointing. My husband and I (handicap 54) played on Monday and Wednesday and paid CHF 140 green fee per person each time. We were admitted for both rounds without any problems.
On Monday we were a bit slower, as we – like other players – had to search for some balls. Nevertheless, we let all the faster groups pass. On Wednesday we played briskly, and at times there wasn't a single group behind us. Despite this, we were repeatedly observed by the caddy master in his vehicle, which we found unpleasant.
When we subsequently tried to book another round for Friday by phone, the receptionist informed us that, according to the manager, we would no longer be able to get a start time. Unfortunately, no explanation or personal discussion was offered. We found this very disappointing.
We also found the driving range to be comparatively expensive. In most golf clubs we know, using the driving range is free; you only pay for the balls.
This review aims to warn other golfers that a beautiful golf course isn't everything. Respectful and friendly treatment of guests – regardless of handicap – should be a given. Based on our personal experience, we unfortunately cannot recommend this golf club.

Played 18 holes today, June 5th, 2023. Great old parkland course, well-kept tees, fairways and greens, spacious, no unimaginative back and forth arrangement of the fairways; the Magliasina river is crossed or overplayed a total of 6 times. Numerous sculptures (with explanations) adorn the course. Good practice facilities. Please come in time, the way from the reception to the first tea is usually far. Relatively well-stocked pro shop, good restaurant. The club is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year. Congratulations!
