Beautifful design - horrible condition
1.0 of 5 starsReviewed October 1, 2017
Absolutely horrible condition. No grass on tees, stones on the firways. Terrible dameged greens. Realy beautiful and spectacular design.

Nice course, lovely area

My wife is a beginner and she managed the course, yes, a couple of tough holes but I'd rather have some challenges than those boring garden courses. Very good rate incl. a cart. We walked the back nine, the front nine are better with a cart. Course lay out was challanging, didn't like Hole No. 7, No 4 and 5 second shot no clue where to go and prob. 9 was nothing special too. However 1,6, and back nine like 10,11,12 are beautiful. I also like elevated tee shots. Restaurant also to be recommended, reasonable menu prices.

Super varied place
4.0 of 5 starsReviewed January 5, 2025
We stayed at the resort for 5 nights. You can stay in one of the 4 guest rooms in the clubhouse. And both the overnight stay and the course itself are hampered by negligence in getting 5 stars. If a little more care was taken, this could be almost perfect.
The reception was friendly and you could communicate well in English. The ladies in the pro shop were very helpful with tips and reservations, for example for dinner. The breakfast was small but sufficient. The restaurant was only open from 8:30 a.m. to about 4 p.m.
The room is comfortable and has excellent beds. Heating, TV, WiFi and shower are often lacking in details and you have to be a little more tolerant to avoid getting annoyed.
I was really impressed with the layout of the course itself. It's not a course for long hitters. You need a lot of precision. We played it four times with a lot of wind and at least the Mountain Course meant there was a high risk of losing the ball and the scores were accordingly modest. But as we got more familiar with the course, things got better. On the last day when there was no wind, my partner and I (HCP 29 and 18) each easily played better than our handicap. I would love to have a course with just this kind of variety near us.
However, the condition of the course is rather poor, even for "winter". The fairways were half dried up, the tees were partly completely covered in earth and the greens had many holes (presumably from pecking birds). Furthermore, a few signs describing the individual holes are missing. And while the continuous cart path is impressive, some of the things here could be made smoother with moderate structural measures.
Overall, a very beautiful facility with great scenery, which could easily be even better with a little more attention to detail.

Varied layout – poor maintenance
3.0 of 5 starsReviewed July 7, 2024
Played mid-April 2024, HCP 16
A parkland course beautifully embedded in the hills. The fairways are cleverly interwoven - yet you hardly ever see the neighbouring fairways and have the feeling of being completely alone in the open country. Many magnificent old trees greet you from the edge of the fairway. All around are mountains, the tops of which seem to be constantly covered in mist - almost a little "unreal".
There is a wonderful peace and quiet, you hardly see any other players and, at least on the day we played, you couldn't hear any greenkeeping work.
Almost every hole is unique - variety guaranteed. However, most of the holes have one thing in common: they are short (length of the course from the regular yellow men's tees is 5,575m), but VERY narrow. Staying straight is essential! (At least on the day we played, some of the tees were also significantly further forward, making the course feel even shorter.)
The greens are moderately fast, not very undulating, but often slope so steeply in one direction that you have no chance of stopping the ball if you land on the wrong side of the green. Knowledge of the course would be (not really surprisingly) an advantage!
Sand hazards only come into play very occasionally, and many holes have no fairway bunkers at all.
Now and then, watercourses run alongside the fairways. Now and then, a pond or a large ravine must be crossed from the tee - challenging, but doable. A few times, a ditch crosses the fairway immediately before the green. Then tactics (lay or attack?) are called for.
Unfortunately, you have to make compromises when it comes to the condition of the course. The greens are good, the bunkers are filled with the finest, pebble-like sand and are therefore top notch. Unfortunately, there is hardly any grass on the tees, just bare earth. The fairways seem to consist of every type of grass and moss in the world. This spoils the look, but they are still playable. The semi-rough is OK - mown short enough to find the balls and still be able to play.
Overall, the club (including the parking lot, clubhouse, catering, etc.) unfortunately gives a somewhat “run-down” impression.
You also have to make slight compromises in terms of "service". The secretary's office is sometimes unoccupied and you have to look for help. The caddy master asked for the voucher for the cart - the secretary had forgotten it or had not told him. Explanations of where the range, first tee or changing rooms are are only given on request. You get the impression that they rarely have guest players here or are not really interested in them. The catering also closes shortly after lunch - but judging by the menu on display, this is probably a situation that is easy to overlook.
We HIGHLY recommend using a cart!!! It goes up and down, often with long paths between the holes!
Conclusion: A pretty brilliant layout with varied courses in a beautiful landscape. That would be a solid 4 stars. Unfortunately, due to the shortcomings in maintenance and service, you have to make compromises, so a good 3 stars. It was still a lot of fun! (In the "Golf Bear Ranking": 6 out of 10 points - 7 would be possible with better maintenance.)

Played on October 6th. A car is highly recommended. Pure variety.
Very well maintained fairways - you can really call it that. Mountainous course, tricky, anything but boring and with a high potential for frustration, the latter especially for beginners!

Absolutely not disappointed.

This place is currently not playable, the fairways are meadows, the roads are laid with dirt and a construction site is being operated at almost all holes. The people are very nice and the food is very good.

Care is necessary
3.0 of 5 starsReviewed May 19, 2022
After we were still enthusiastic in February 22, the disillusionment followed 3 months later: neglected discounts, bunker carelessly marked as ground in repair because overgrown with weeds. Generally a really bad condition. It's a pity, because the topography is superl

Varied topography with spectacular discounts
4.0 of 5 starsReviewed February 8, 2022
We played the course on February 22 on a sunny day. The course was in good condition for the time of year. The first 9 holes (Mare) are easy to play, open and in the sun. The back nine (Monti) go up and down quite a bit. Without a cart, you need a good basic level of fitness here. The place compensates for this with great elevated discounts. We really liked the place and we will play it again. Then maybe with e-trolleys.

Adventure playground St. Anna
4.0 of 5 starsReviewed August 15, 2020
We had booked a package through Golf & More. The first 4th nights / match days were on the St. Anna square. This place is like an adventure playground in a positive sense. It goes over the water, over ravines and ditches, it goes up and down, sometimes left and right. It is really a very demanding place. Be sure to pack enough balls. (There is a shop if necessary).
So my conclusion is: something for every player, for every handicap. I won't be there for the last time.

Adventure playground in very bad condition
2.0 of 5 starsReviewed September 20, 2019
In September 2019, we have weekdays for 2 people and a cart 150, - € paid. You really play the round like on an adventure playground. Actually, there is not even room for 9 clever tracks here. So it is just an adventurous round of it. Unfortunately, the price for the condition is much too high. All tees terrible, the bunker concrete hard and with many stones, fairway partly still in order, greens with many damage. The staff is nice. But such a worn cart with so much game in the steering I have not had, that was borderline.

Dreamlike adventure golf...
4.0 of 5 starsReviewed November 4, 2018
Gorgeous tees on gorges and water, sometimes very demanding. The fairways were all very well playable despite the massive continuous rain of the previous day, the greens in very good condition and despite the humidity surprisingly fast.
The service was also excellent, due to landslides were two access roads closed. The third of the sat nav not findable, there we were after a short telephone call, two places in front of the golf course "picked up" by a secretary staff and escorted to the golf course!
Where is there such a service!!!
We played 02. + 03.11.2018, a golf car is due to the topography urgently recommended...
the e-trolleys are not that great, but nobody is perfect ;-)

Spectacular!
4.0 of 5 starsReviewed January 10, 2018
I played the course in January 2017. Care condition was good! Holes 1 to 9 with several water hazards good for tuning. Holes 10-18 super spectacular over ditches and gorges, uphill and downhill. Place is remembered for a long time! Gladly again when I'm in the area...

Nice and / or severe
3.0 of 5 starsReviewed April 7, 2015
Beautiful tracks but the first 9 holes (Monti) are walking an absolute Challenge. The score is in trouble with inadequate fitness. The second 9 holes (Mare) are playing much more pleasant. The fairways were rather poor with little grass. Greens were good.

Lanschaftlich nice, but...
2.0 of 5 starsReviewed April 3, 2015
Although beautifully situated and also for golfers demanding the chance is wasted on a good seat. The condition and around it require significant Verbssserung:
Among others:
- Bunker hard as concrete
- Little handsome discounts
- Doubtful Greens
The order of play of the tracks was probably changed, but the signs do not completely replaced. One should not get confused and need dedektivischen flair.
The surrendered Cart was dirty and ripped the seat cushion.

Not for every day, but great place!
3.0 of 5 starsReviewed March 22, 2013
Place is not easy to find, on a high plateau between Savona and Genova. Cart necessarily take because the place is very hilly and partly between the holes is very steep. The first 9 holes are super sophisticated, necessarily play defensively or pack up a box of balls more. The second nine are flat. The place is kind of a love-hate relationship for me... but go back again and again. Super good restaurant. A bargain price (50 euros with Cart ...).

Inadvisable
2.0 of 5 starsReviewed February 18, 2013
There are plenty of golf courses in the area, on this I will refrain in the future. You must always play from positions without being able to see the landing zone. Steep passages, deep ditches, etc. to cope even with hardly Cart. Even a good player, they will lose a lot of balls... Not about the green fees are so low - including e-cart!

Recommendation from hole 1-19
5.0 of 5 starsReviewed August 14, 2012
My wife and I play golf handicap 30 +. A golf course is to deal only with cart, very attractive price (40 EUR per person green fee cart included). Sensational discounts which we have also offered lovely par experiences. Optimal combination with beach stay in Arenzano.
The highlight is the club restaurant with a spectacular terrace, a well-stocked wine list, excellent pasta, steak in the evening and multilingual friendly service.

Really challenging, a great experience
4.0 of 5 starsReviewed March 27, 2011
Demands of some very intense place. Walking absolutely not recommended. Necessarily take enough balls. Defensive game is better and prevents loss of possession. Playing for the first time this is a good place for players and accurate course management is essential, since a few holes come up with surprises. Hole 5 is a ball-eater, submit here is always better. Not suitable for novice golfers, there is a certain length and accuracy of strokes is needed. For example, hole 11 from yellow at 186 m above the water is hard to deal with for beginners. In any case, it is the second For sure better.

Alpine space
4.0 of 5 starsReviewed July 23, 2010
A technically extremely difficult space is unplayable for golf beginners in my 20 years of experience. dangerous are the very steep descents with demgolfcart. Despite the most careful driving style Cartnoch slips quite in the descents. you have to hit long balls and be fairly straight. otherwise the ball is likely to be very high loss. The cart is included in the green fees increased in the steep descents and total sense.
