Wonderful classic old golf course design in the high altitude of the Quellenberge mountains, truly uniquely beautiful.
It was 23 degrees and there was still snow on the peaks!
From Marco Simone's place it's a 50-minute drive, but definitely worth it!
Everyone is very friendly, and there's a great osteria 500m away!

Fiuggi is probably one of the oldest, if not the oldest, golf course in Italy. Wonderfully unpretentious - no show-offs. There isn't even a pro shop. But you can get decent rental clubs and you should definitely drive a go-kart on this mountain goat course - even if it sounds unsporting - once you reach a certain level of fitness.
The courses are quite challenging. The landscape is mountainous with great views. The greens have a clover-like surface - so you shouldn't be too obsessed with the score (and that's why it only gives 4 stars) - but it's really worth playing here -

We played in July 2015 here twice. The place is quaint and offers a number of challenges: hilly terrain, partly narrow fairways, a lot of bushes and water. The condition leaves much to be desired, but it was pleasant, at least a week empty. The driving range is used to: between holes located (ie, one finds often range balls on the fairways) and no tea on the mats - so best rubber teas take. The English skills of the staff are poor, but we are friendly and eager. Credit cards are not always accepted (as often in Italy). The clubhouse has a nice terrace, but the restaurant is below average in every way.
