Characteristics
Already since 1929 golf was played in Davos. The 19 fairways offer a varied game, easier courses alternate with more difficult ones. Tactics and knowledge of the course are withal very in demand. In an altitude of 1.500 m the season is limited to about 5 months. The golf course is situated in the midst of mountains and the highest situated town of Europe.

The rustic vegetation and the soft ground do not give many free meters. The fairways were cut a bit high.
In winter, Nordic ski slopes sometimes lead across the square, which leave their mark for a long time.
Golf was played here almost a hundred years ago. The new 18 holes designed and built by Donald Harradine were opened in the mid-1960s. Kurt Rossknecht revised the system over 10 years ago.

The course is a bit nested but playable quite nicely - but it's not the great golf experience.
At 1600 m above sea level located, and the resulting shortened vegetation time, you have to be able to turn a blind eye when it comes to fairway and green conditions. the greenkeeper is definitely making an effort. Bunker sand was good, greens were okay, the layout was a bit squeezed into the houses and the green fee is not exactly cheap, unless you enjoy some (hotel) discounts.
By far the best is the 19th hole with excellent gastronomy.

Safely, Davos is a big city in the mountains and therefore you cannot expect a house-free view.
