Characteristics
The course of the GC Barbarossa spreads over a 80 ha large area at an altitude of 300 m in the north-west of Kaiserslautern. The course is located in a softly hilly terrain and offers a wonderful view south on the edges of the Palatinate Forest and the region Sickinger Höhe. The holes are separated by the water course in combination with a wet biotope. The course demands a precise game.

The positives first: the welcome was very friendly. The course could be good, and perhaps it was in the past, but currently it's not worth the green fee. The course resembled a steppe; the fairways, almost all the tees, and even some of the greens were parched. The irrigation of the greens is completely inadequate, and the green surfaces were uneven, causing the balls to roll poorly. It's a real shame, especially since the greens are actually quite large and beautifully undulating, which would make for ideal conditions for challenging putting.

The best first. We were there for two days with our camper and dog and felt welcome and comfortable every minute. The friendliness of all the staff, from the secretariat to the catering and greenkeepers, is exceptional. The course has some very beautiful and interesting holes (e.g. the 10th, a par 5 where the green can be reached with a little risk in two shots), the greens are true to the course and are partly well defended by bunkers. It has something to offer for all levels of play. The peace and quiet on the individual courses and the spacious course itself are outstanding.

Barbarossa we will definitely come back!
A wonderful course with impressive hospitality. Even our four-legged friend was welcomed with a dog biscuit. The course was of course a little wet in places due to the heavy rain, but otherwise perfectly maintained. Even the greenkeepers waved happily. We have played on many golf courses, but we have never experienced anything like this. My husband, who has a handicap of 4, felt right at home. We are really impressed - we have added another day of play straight away.
