Amazing woodland course, a true classic.
5.0 of 5 starsReviewed August 6, 2016
Truly one of the most beautiful courses i played in Germany. A classic woodland course where all fairways a lined by old and tall trees, the whole course was cut into the forest decades ago. The atmosphere was amazing since the course feels like it has always been there.
The fairways are wide enough but don´t take chances if you are not a straight hitter. Balls leaving the fairway will easily find there ways deep into the trees. It becomes a true test if you play it off the white tees so it´s not a short course.
Again, the overall atmosphere ia amazing and the people we met where all very welcoming. If you´re visiting Nuremberg make sure to stop by.

Inadvisable

Boring place. No signature holes. Very long and tight. But in very bad condition: tees, fairways and greens. Really miserable. How can something like that be a Leading Course? Located in the middle of nowhere. What I found most interesting was the close proximity to the airport and the carefree fawns on the tracks.

Great forest place!
5.0 of 5 starsReviewed October 22, 2020
A beautiful and very narrow place, especially due to very narrow aisles, which play a major role, especially from the furthest tee. But it also challenges and around the greens and is mentally one of the toughest courses I've played. Well maintained and worth a visit!

A forest hike for the precision golfer
4.0 of 5 starsReviewed October 7, 2020
The attraction of this golf course is also its difficulty:
It is a hike through a beautiful mixed forest. the paths are often quite narrow - you cannot allow yourself to be very diversified.
the course is in good condition, is partly wavy and partly flat, but sometimes tricky to play with doglegs and narrow passages. there are actually no other natural obstacles, apart from the bunkers around the greens with good sand. the greens are nicely undulating and interesting to play.
the infrastructure offers a nice golfing experience and the 19th hole makes a good impression. the aircraft noise criticized by some commentators didn't bother us - it is overdramatized.
Conclusion: a solid 4 * and definitely worth a round.

In the forest
4.0 of 5 starsReviewed August 29, 2020
The whole time we asked ourselves "is there anyone here at all?" May be, but it doesn't have to be. Air traffic is probably still considerably restricted at the moment, so it was not a problem for us. Like so many, this course has to contend with the drought, but it was in good condition. Not easy to play, everything flat, already challenging due to the forest. Definitely a recommendation for us.

Mega place despite "bad" location
5.0 of 5 starsReviewed October 28, 2019
I played the course in mid-October.
The place condition was 1a, with gorgeous greens and well maintained fairways.
Layout technically can absolutely convince the place, have rarely played such a beautiful and entertaining place.
Characteristic for me are:
Wide fairways that invite you to attack from the tee, lined with trees on all sides, that too aggressive a game is also punished.
Yes, I can understand that many people are upset about the noise of the aircraft, it is present and also very loud in some lanes, but that is complaining quite a high level.

In the Reichswald... or on the airfield?
3.0 of 5 starsReviewed September 17, 2018
First of all: I am not a singlehcper but average bogey golfer, so I can not say anything euphoric about the layout of the tracks. What I have remembered are difficult and long tracks with some tight tees... and much, much forest. Actually a euphemism, which means the place "Am Reichswald" ... all tracks are completely in the forest.
Negative is the considerable aircraft noise noticed (some lanes bordering the runway of the Nuremberg Airport) - starting and landing aircraft in the minute are truly no enjoyment.
The condition of the tees and fairways was below average (probably due to the hot and dry summer), the greens top.
Front desk and restaurant very friendly and you can eat well there.

Very historical and traditional place

A place of a different kind. Care condition absolute world class! The layout of the tracks marked by many trees, tight tees and unique nature. By far the best place in northern Bavaria.

Earned Excellent rating verily
5.0 of 5 starsReviewed July 6, 2016
Nestled in the Reichswald are generous and not too narrow tracks, the practice area and clubhouse, a true enjoyment of nature.
Unfortunately urges the sandy forest floor underground quickly takes its toll and small drought damage are visible after all the rain.
Nevertheless comes a golfer's heart more than his money. Very good and lovingly maintained the velvety fairways and relatively fast greens, richly varied, sometimes sophisticated and in no way difficult the game is through the tree glades. Besides the first-class golf environment apparently applies wellbeing as a priority objective of the club, because this impression leaves a not after arrival. Place and also the club house with terrace allow the round to be truly memorable.
Only: the aircraft noise and the nearby airport operations interfere occasionally - a pity!

Beautiful and challenging
4.0 of 5 starsReviewed April 13, 2016
Actually, the golf club would not on but "IM" Reichswald hot :-)
I played on the Transit a 9 hole Feierabendrunde on the back nine, but as each course was a path through high forest. Inaccurate or laterally warped beats often end up in the dense forest / undergrowth and quickly one needs one or two extra bounce back at ''s Fairway. In other words: Lanes forgive little mistakes.
The place is wonderfully integrated with nature, everything is very well maintained. The greens were in early April already in excellent condition, though still mowed relatively high and therefore slow as the fairways. But I've played it day near another place, since the care status was not nearly as good. Speaks for Greenkeeper team!
The clubhouse and restaurant I have not visited, only the application. There was very friendly and accommodating. The building and the exercise equipment in front were very tidy and with attention to detail. Very pleasant was that you could get started without starting times - and an absolutely acceptable price!
Am Reichswald I felt comfortable and I'm sure at some point even the front nine play - but no pretending effective tournament ;-)

A journey...
4.0 of 5 starsReviewed April 2, 2016
The three of us have come to this place, which is recommended in various forums to play.
Combined:
- Good friendly service
- Little operation
- No start time is required
- Many Greenkeeper, therefore ensprechend...
- Good to very good condition Place
- Interesting, well-defended greens
- Daily green fees
We arrived early in the morning. After the warm welcome in the clubhouse presentable we went once warm. Balls are available for 1 or 2 Euro coins. Chipping area and putting greens are in good condition. After the Range a coffee (Restaurant open from 10am) and from the round. On the pitch everything is tippitoppi: Everywhere Ballwasher with fresh towels. Tee markers are freshly painted. Benches are new and positioned so that you can watch well. There are the details make the place as pleasant. Despite the many rain during the previous days was the place to play well to a fairway. The fairways are lush green and dense. Ever like grasses used. The greens were unfortunately slow. Probably it is still too early in the year. If the greens cut shorter, it gets significantly more difficult...
The place is so overall not too difficult - the fairways are really wide. But the forest aisles, in which one tees make really impressive. And woe to get on the train... then there double bogey or worse...
Speaking Double Bogey: The well manicured bunkers are sometimes very deep. It is sometimes up to eight feet below the green!
After 9 holes, there was a lunch at the restaurant. After 27 holes of beer and Backhendel. The kitchen fc understands their job! Great praise!
Highly Recommended because really above average for Germany.

All in all, great!
From the reception area, the clubhouse, the friendliness Sekreteriat to the range is all professional.
The site is completely in the forest. He is long and narrow. Challenging!
The fairways class as the true greens.
The hospitality and the food can only recommend it.
Only the airport in the immediate vicinity of the idyll is somewhat annoying.

Worse than expected
4.0 of 5 starsReviewed October 28, 2013
He played on the field at the end of October. Greens are fast, fine quality. However, on the fairways grass cover watery. And shortly before the game fairways were sanded. As a plus, I can note a perfect location in the forest - the air is clean and fresh. Incidentally, the fairways are narrow - take plenty of spare balls. :-)

Nice ambience
4.0 of 5 starsReviewed July 27, 2011
After knocking on the fairly short driving range, we went to the manicured 18 holes. Wide fairways and lack of wind zimelich make the game easy. Elevation changes and water are in a "forest course" of course only things that you will miss a large extent.
Really hard, only a few holes and also the player with 36 hcp manages well to get through the course without using up his ball stock.
Liked the clubhouse with good cuisine and the reasonable prices.
