If not for the rain
5.0 of 5 starsReviewed June 9, 2014
I visited this club many moons ago (1984) when I had the privilege of attending "Carnival". I joined a few Irish farmers who were also there for the street spectacle for an impromptu game on this wonderful course. I loved every minute of the 3 hours we got to play then the heavens opened to a degree where our caddies all ran off the course in fear of lightning. We quickly followed suit.
It was a tremendous experience and I would recommend any golfer to give it a go, even if it was not on your itinerary. A short, but very tricky, course that will remain in my memories forever.

I played on a rainy day when the field was almost on my own which is always fantastic.
Beautiful views of the sea and the forest.
The field has some dog accented legs, some greens perched on hills and some launders which makes it more challenging. Quite tolerant of errors distracted players with the beauty of the scenery.
The location for those who are housed in Rio is very convenient. I bus and the trip was pleasant by the sea for 3.4 reais each route.
At this time (December 2015) there are six holes in maintaining that when dialup were only three! Every hole beach side and a mountain side. The green fee is an adjustment from 350 to 250 reais. Obligatory caddy costs 100 reais. I rented one set for 50 reais that was in good condition, only the driver was a bit dated and had a rather strange set-up and no one had the tool to fine tune. The green are treated well and the fairways too.
