Great parkland

Fota is a long hitter paradise. Very well-kept facility which promises a great day of golf. The weather in Ireland is not the responsibility of the course... Moderately varied and no particular surprises, but very stable parkland. Not a bargain but worth the money. There are other treasures in the area.

Deer Park Course

Who expects a links course due to the name "Iceland", will be disappointed. On some tracks, although water comes into play - mostly laterally, rarely frontal - but it is a beautiful, but in no way any special Parkland course. Optically chic, with some impressive trees and a great final hole with peninsula green, chic planting and overlooking the pretty clubhouse.
Apart from the ponds, the course also defends itself with many large but well-playable bunkers.
The greens are very fast, not always easy to read and in very good condition - even the rest of the course is in good condition.
Unfortunately, on more than half of the railways, a motorway / country road casts its weight on the course - and not just a car drives by that. :-( That's pretty annoying.
A cart is not needed - only a few tracks are moderately hilly.
Conclusion: Solid 3 stars - no more and no less. Play time, if you are in the vicinity (and not be frightened by street noise) - extra travel is not worth it. (In the "Golf Bear Ranking": 6 out of 10 points.)

Certainly Fota Iceland is a beautiful place, but in Ireland there are much better places Parkland. 2-3 lanes of Deerpark are spectacular, the rest but rather monotonous!
