Characteristics
This course ranks among the oldest and most known golf courses of Portugal. Numerous Portugal Open took place here and many champions, from Max Faulkner to Seve Ballesteros, have played here. We played the time-honored course today. Ok, the weather has been rainy the last few days. But regardless, the place was in very poor condition. Greens were mostly brown, fairways were unkempt and dilapidated. What we found very disturbing was the noise from the motorway, which partly ran parallel. The tracks are beautifully laid out and the greens are challenging. The place is easily accessible on foot. The shuttle service to hole 16 is very convenient. All the staff (reception, office, restaurant, greenkeeper, pro shop) are very friendly, nice, courteous and helpful. The place has certainly seen better days. Everything is getting a bit old. The condition was good in March 2023.
