Lovely and difficuilt links course

Played end Oct 2021 as a 12 Hdc Very exciting course layout, extrem fast greens (there was a big tournament here last week).
As the course is not very long, they kept the rough around the greens quite high, so difficuilt to chip on.
Lovely experience, will be back.
Also the staff was very friendly and upto their tasks.

Wow how unfriendly can staff be

Be carefull with the pricing, if you pay on site they charge 25€ more.
Staff at the reception is very unfriendly, trolly are in a very bad condition (2 broke during the front9) teebox is also not in good shape.
You have to wait for the Greenkeepers, they ignore you.
The course (forest) is a very very nice and beatiful but a rather simple course. We played the best rounds of our 9 course hollidays

Actually 4.5 Stars

Emporda is a great golfing destination. We played here twice in mid July 2016. The two courses are quite different and both very appealing in their own way. The Links course has resort bunkers rather than pot or dune type bunkers but that doesn't detract at all. The Forest course is probably marginally the easier but is still a solid test.

The practice facilities are excellent. Grass tees on the range. Coin operated ball dispenser.

Great clubhouse and shop. Hotel on site.

This is the sort of place you could come to for a week's golf, no problem.

Strongly recommended.

Your Choice of Water or Trees

This is a family oriented resort so don't expect all die-hard golfers on the tees. At one time, four 9-holes were color-coded (Green, Red, Yellow, Blue) and one can mix and match to make up 6 different combo of 18 holes: Great idea to keep guests playing on the premises! Nowadays, it is simplified to 2 choices: Links (Green + Red) and Forest (Yellow + Blue) with more dunes, undulation and water for the former, and trees for the latter. Both are quite scenic and offer a countryside feel, the only buildings close by being the resort's own (one hotel facing hole 1,9, 10, and 4 units of apartments behind hole 18. However, building lots are offered so in a few years expect more houses in sight). Surprisingly, Sunday afternoons are not busy and a special rate is even offered which made a relaxed and affordable round in early May.

Played Links on May 6,2012.

Very pleasant

We played on December 23rd. Parking with the motorhome is not possible. An employee drove ahead with a golf cart to show us where to park. Then about 5 minutes back to the Club House and tea 1.
We liked the Forest Course, very well maintained, gladly again

Challenging links course also for better golfers

Played in mid-November at 18 degrees and sunshine. Well-kept and demanding course, very fast, demanding greens.
Extremely nice and helpful welcome from a young woman in the golf office; great golf shop on top of that. Good location.
Relaxed golf without time pressure.
The only drawback are the bunkers filled with pebbles; Here you inevitably damage your clubs.
Otherwise, in my opinion, there is nothing to criticize. Overall, recommended for anyone who likes links golf.

Almost a four.

Linkscourse. Hilly fairways and greens. The latter are also very well defended. Lots of water and sometimes long paths. Overall well maintained - which is what you would expect at a normal price of 105.

Excessively expensive / not recommended

We played the course in April. The condition was so-so in the hope of improvement —- none!!!
Today we drove to the place again on our Spain tour. The condition was a disaster!!!
Overpriced and trampled greens Mass Mass Mass - 5 1/2 hours playing time The whole thing in winter in Spain Not recommended - only trimmed for commercialism - greed is number 1. !!!
What else needs to be mentioned negatively
Unfriendliness is very important there
There are places on the Costa Brava too
better price performance ratio
with very friendly staff
Take your distance - we'll play in the future
on other roaches

We are happy to accept criticism, but it is very difficult

Recommendation - look around and reviews
read

All round great golfing experience

In early May 23 played both courses, the green fee to 79 €. Can you walk well with a manual trolley - long but beautiful. The links lives up to its name: lots of wind, water and bunkers (but not Scottish ones...). Very flat, more space than Forest. Forest very nicely built in the pine forest with the exception of a few tracks at the beginning and end. More topography, sometimes narrower fairways than links. Just a little up and down. Both courses were in very good condition with fast and sometimes very challenging greens. Although there were hardly any players, Starter was at number 1 and provided friendly and competent information. Clubhouse and pro shop also recommended: friendly and good offer. For us the best golfing experience on the Costa Brava (and we also played PGA Catalunya).

Flat course with narrow fairways

April 22 Emporda links: good course condition, fast greens, little traffic.
Beautiful layout with narrow fairways and many large bunkers. If you're in the rough, you've either lost the ball or have little chance of getting out. Place flat, invites you to run, but is almost 12 km long because of long distances. Nice clubhouse.

A field up

Since they remodeled the course, in my opinion it has been among the best in the area, along with the PGA Catalunya. I have been doing two or three getaways per quarter for more than 10 years We were on vacation last week after two years without visiting them because of the damn covid and I don't know if it was nostalgia, but both my wife and I found it more precious than it we remembered

The emporda golf club is a great course.

Very varied and interesting

We played the * forest * course. The first track was still wide open, but then it went off in the old pine forest. the place is not hilly, but very wavy and often tight. The condition was very good from the tee to the beautifully undulating greens, only the bunker sand was very mushy / sticky.
The course requires precise play, a bit too much scatter and you can find the ball in the trees.
A ranger who takes slow players under his arms would be very desirable and necessary. otherwise: definitely recommended.

Gladly again

We played both courses immediately after the storms in October 2019. Accordingly, the seats were extremely wet, the bunkers had not been repaired yet and the greens were very soft. For the weather, the place can not do anything - so these circumstances are not included in the rating.
Both courses are beautifully landscaped - one in the pine forest, the other in the open terrain in the style of a links course, although the club is not on the sea. We will gladly come again.
The only criticism is the lack of space control, which had a dramatic effect on the game speed. On both match days we need more than five and a half hours for the 18 holes for two!

Medal to the Platzarbeiter

A lot has happened...
At Forest, many trees had to give their life...
The place is not easier, but greener.
Great care condition! All employees have earned a living.
Dr Links Platz is just as hard as it used to be, also great care.

Both places played in a lot of wind - a challenge.
In the clubhouse the service has improved, Pto shop small, but fine.
There's nothing to complain about... next year we'll be back

Has subsided, albeit still good

Below is a review of me from the year 2011. I was right then very pleased with the overall package, there were no weaknesses. Even though I now play the course differently with a medium single handicap than almost 8 years ago, I still enjoy both laps (Links and Forest) very much. Varied, beautiful layout, to enjoy and have fun. Still highly recommended. Empordà is our "home club" at our regular holidays in the region.

But a few things have not changed in the last few years. The condition suffers from the higher player frequency, which I suspect from the better application and thereby occupancy of the hotel, which now belongs to the Hilton Group under the brand Doubletree, results. Also, in the summer in price regions well beyond the 100 EUR, where the question of the price-performance ratio arises slowly, even in comparison to the absolute top spot in the region, the PGA de Catalunya. Especially when almost 50 EUR are called for a cart or for loan sets.

The combination of worse performance (place condition) with higher prices does not lead in any case in the right direction.

Beautiful place, well maintained

We played the Forrest Course on a windy day in early March. Place in good condition.
The greens are consistently challenging to play. Well "defended" and / or "modeled".
A bypassed on the street expressway interferes with copious sound.

Great round on the Forrest!

Have played a relaxed round on the forrest! Ok, not a bargain, but ok! Cart for almost 50 € does not have to be! A challenge for some / bogey players, but also playable for higher hcp! Good condition! Gastro also ok!

Lots of money for no achievement... unfortunately

We have played on the left and forest... on the left in part in bad condition, more meadow than fairway, greens evil, neglected the paths etc. etc. Forest goes so... quite passable. A bit boring. But in catastrophic condition, 18.-) electric trolley and also golfcart! 48 .- !!!) as rude the staff in the reception, lying uninhibited. Offers on the homepage are not valid and you are laughed when you speak to them. Owner probably in prison. So price / performance is definitely not! Way too expensive. We will not be back.

Class Course (Course Forest)

This is how a golf course looks! Top well-kept fairways and neat greens. The bunkers were also in optimal condition. Varied fair tracks with neat lengths and difficulty lines.
The whole predominantly grown in a beautiful old trees (pine trees). Water also comes into play in some places. Tip: If you use "golf jacks", you save 50% on green fees.

Beautiful courses in good condition

Through two different courses (Forest and links) over several days varied, generally well maintained, nice design and highly recommended! Priced at 59 euros per round (5-Package, January), perfectly fine.

Only four instead of five stars because the bunker would be largely optimized a bit (little sand, a lot of stones).

Links or Wood?

Played 12.2015 repeats the Wood and found in excellent condition. For variety, besides, makes the left-Cours.
Both courses compact, also play well without cart.
Reception and Restaurant true very calm and relaxed. Ideal training grounds in a central location.
Hotel newly unfortunately also with winter holidays.

Too noisy

The Course Forest is beautiful but it is too noisy, busy road crossing right side discharge noise for at least 14 holes, explosion every two minutes in cultures proximitées, lawn followed us for 16 holes.
In practice the pro collects the balls on the ground before you?
Map and service to the club house are very disappointing

Pity

Great care condition of the course, fairways and greens top!
Good game rhythm.
€ 78 green fee for hotel guests in the upper price limit.
Electric buggy at 47 € too expensive for our tastes.
Too bad the service in the clubhouse, to desire, as in the past years can be very left.
Staff speak Spanish exclusively. Orders are forgotten.
Actually, the system deserves a star more.

Exciting and sporty seats

Beautiful golf experiences in the Emporda Golf! We played several times both places (left and Forest) while on vacation and really enjoyed it. Great that the staff made us only to pay the extra charge on the 2's and 3 green fee packages so that we good 60 EUR per round paid at the end of what the courts are more than worth it. Care very good condition. Forest varied with outstanding holes (6 with the choice between safe around the corner Nebens water then prolonged approach and lateral water or risk to narrow spit of land right in front of green with a short approach on frontal water?, The 9( par 5) one of the best holes that I know, pure "risk reward": Drive 220m over the bunkers and then again good 160/170m afloat again peninsula green or if the drives are not so long, next to the bunker on quite narrow fairway, second shot as a transport strike and Green then attack with Wedge, water at your sides and behind green.

The "links" shows what a top architect (van Hagge) can make exciting of flat land, as would the architect of Golf Valley, near Munich, whose layout is very monotonous and we had played the week before, to gain much.

Good, classic Catalan cuisine in the clubhouse at very reasonable prices.

Conclusion: Highly recommended.

Very nice facility with matching hotel

In which the course marshalls-think with finally a place properly and if necessary intervene. In wind and rain, one should choose the forrest-course, although rel. but narrow fairways cut the tracks really exciting. The left-course allowed some more mistakes if one is willing to look at many, many grassy hills the wily ball.

Windy affair

1 September 12, close. Fairways at wind force 6 make the course a real challenge. Maintained greens, fairways in the flow of tourists in very good condition. Nice to see the many moorhens on the 18th hole Very nice-holes inserted at the forest wind a broom into the bag stuck to the line of putt of the pine needles to liberate. Hotel very modern, well decorated bathroom. Beautiful spa, which must be paid. Coffee at breakfast inedible. In the neighborhood of very nice restaurants that are worth a visit.

Place with a very high density Player

2x18Loch Course (Links and Forest). Forest is a beautiful, well-kept course with rolling fairways framed by pine trees which requires accurate play. Special attention deserves hole 6 If you would like to book the afternoon playing in peace. In September, we played the course 3 times, each time in the morning busloads of golfers from all over the world, so we could not play the links course, as always crowded. Clubhouse, pro shop recommended due.
