Shocked

I'm shocked on how this course looks. Lots of bare spots in most fairways. We were hitting off dirt in the middle of the fairways. The tee boxes were ok but may not be for long. They are starting to get beat up. The greens were good. We played there near the end of Fall last year and it was in great shape. Have no idea how it could go from so good to so bad in 1/2 years' time. really disappointed. I would not recommend this course. Plenty of courses around for less money and in better shape.

An outstanding and challenging golf course

I was so happy seeing Crystal Highlands reopen. I've played it 3 times since reopening and remember every hole, a characteristic of good golf courses. Of course the greens are as treacherous as ever. I played today and shot 88 from the green tees. I am happy to see they have added the senior tees. I shot 81-75 in a tournament there October 18-19,1997 for 2nd Place in A flight. I even carded a 72 on 7-9-94. Played with Powerbilt persimmon woods in those days. Of course in those days I had better eyes, no arthritis and was stronger. The course was in great shape and was cart path only until we were allowed to go on the course on the 13th hole. Crystal Highlands makes you really concentrate on every shot, particularly putting. I highly recommend playing the course, but play realistic tees for your skill level to get the most enjoyment from the golf course.

Suggestion to Rick1, The golf course is beautiful... from all 3 sets of tees

Rick1 (his review) This is directed at you and its not a personal attack.
If the white tees are too far then move up to the red tees. Who cares!!
In fact, you can decide to play from the red on certain holes and the whites on other holes. The idea is to enjoy 3 1/2 to 4 hours of being outside enjoying this beautiful course!!!
