Nice quiet parkland

A typical, pretty parkland place. Similar to "Dromoland Castle" - not quite as chic, but much quieter. From a distance, as is so often the case in these climes, a castle ruin greets you from the nearby hills. Many colorful Moorhühner (or are it pheasants?) Cheer up the round.
At first not overly challenging in terms of playing technique - mostly very wide landing zones. Water comes, if at all, almost only laterally into play. However, partly rich drives are required over canyons. Overall quite flat - a cart is not really needed.
Really difficult it is only about the, or on the greens. Many "upside down bowls", very fast and almost ALWAYS so undulating that you can recognize the breaks, but very difficult to assess their strength.
The train-guide is partly British bizarre - some tracks intersect - be careful at the tee, or when crossing the tracks!
Noble ambiance in the clubhouse and changing rooms - unfortunately, the condition of the place can not quite keep up. In particular, the much too high semi-rough proves to be annoying. You often have to spend a lot of time researching balls and then have more problems than being fair to get them on track in the right direction.
Conclusion: take away, if you are in the vicinity anyway - you do not have to go there extra. Good 3 stars. (In the "Golf Bear Ranking": 6 out of 10 points.)

Played the course in early June 2019 and were very impressed. For 75 € you get a very good place in the redesign of a world-famous architect (MacKenzie). I did not find a hole boring. The tracks are very varied and great in the landscape (near the shore, quarry) integrated. It was incredible fun. For those who are in Cork and surroundings, this place is a must-have, especially as it is mostly unknown to other golf tourists.

The course is arranged somewhat confusing, at least for first-timers and even irritating as haircuts cross other Fareways and even greens. But the locals are so very experienced and so you quickly feel equally as comfortable and can have fun on the round.
