Characteristics

Corfu Golf Club offers a unique golfing experience, in a mature course designed in 1967 by the Swiss based architect Donald Harradine. It was completed in 1971, and since then players from all over the world have played in over 50 international tournaments.

Corfu Golf Club’s design blends the natural resources of the Ropa Valley with the man made water hazards. The mature 18-hole course, enjoyable for all categories of golfers, includes the river where the myth tells us Odysseus was rescued by Princess Nafsika at its exit on Ermones beach, which is only 800 m. from the Club. The excellent condition of the greens, the tree lined fairways and the bunkers, in combination with the seven lakes, create a unique golf course both for the professional and the amateur golf player, against a backcloth of hills and mountains.

Dozens of animal species gather in the Club’s natural landmark all year round: ducks, herons, robins, goldfinches, fish, hedgehogs, turtles, beavers and many more. Also, the Club’s greens are eco-friendly fertilized with the kind collaboration of local sheep, which help to maintain the harmony with Nature, Golf and Greek traditions.

At the Club House, built of local stone, visitors will find the Club’s Restaurant, where they will enjoy beverages and traditional dishes made by one of the best Corfiot chefs. The Club’s pro shop offers the opportunity to buy nice memorabilia, clothes and accessories.

Corfu Golf Club extends a warm welcome to all visitors and hopes that they enjoy the Golf Course and the beautiful surroundings of the Ropa Valley. Our professional staff will make sure all visitors enjoy their golfing holidays to the utmost.

Good Layout, worst maintenance

From Jan 19 till April tried to phone the golfcourse. No one there. Homepage bookings not working. Arrived april 6. to play 10 days. Fairways, Tee boxes greens not cut for a long time, bunkers just mud, no sand at all. Garbage everywhere. They where starting on monday 8. to cut and clean. Wednesday 10. a swedish group of 140 players rented the course for 10 days excusively. Thanks to the swedish group we could at least start at sunrise 07:15 for the front 9 and sneak in for another 9 during the day. No pleasure at all to play under this circumstances.

The course is flat with a very charming and intersting layout. After first maintenance Greens are slow, fairways some good some are crapy salad, bunkers mud holes, Infrastructure generally is nice and solid but not maintained. The staff nice and helpful but not trained to maintain and run a golf course.
Price is cheap but was not worth the situation.
Has the potential to be a juwel for the double price.
But therefore you have to install a professionell management and fire the actual manager which we never have seen.
Until then... never again.

Mike

Dear Mike,

Firstly we would like to thank you for taking the time and writing this review, all the points made will be taken under serious consideration so that we will improve in every aspect possible. We understand your frustration since you couldn t play every day the 18 or 27 holes that you did the first days but we need to point out that your first attempt on contacting us via email was the 30th of March. I am unaware whether you tried to call, but our working hours are not the same during winter and we also divert the phone calls to my personal mobile so that we can serve our clients the best way possible. The course when you arrived was not only being maintained but also our Consultant from Scotland (Consultant for the European and Scandinavian tour with more of 20 years experience) was present and working with our staff. Indeed the first day on Sunday the greens were not cut but it was the only day. Furthermore you were informed before your arrival to Corfu that a group will be here and you were given alternatives based on availability. We are really sorry that even though we had no complaints whatsoever from 140 players (only positive feedback and thankful comments on social media) we couldn t live up to your standards.
We would like to thank you once more for all your comments and we hope one day when you return to Corfu to give us the chance to invite you at CGC
With my warmest regards
Bia

Nice place, completely neglected

We spent the last two weeks of July 2020 on the course, which is really nice and not particularly difficult, yet it offers one or two challenges.

For the first few days, only the fairway was mowed. The grass next to the fairway, partly around the greens and behind the bunkers was knee high. If the ball fell into the semirough, it was no longer to be found.

After our complaint, the mowing was a little better.

There are fallen trees in the ponds, the bunkers are filled with a strange mixture of dust and coarse gravel.
Some bunkers are now grass troughs again.

It is dirty around the clubhouse, in the restaurant when it is open, but very clean.

At the reception and in the restaurant everyone is very nice and helpful when they are there.

Actually a shame, because the place could be a real gem.

Dear Jeannette,

Firstly i would like to thank you for taking the time and writing this review. Indeed it was a crazy year and unfortunately for 6 weeks during the complete lockdown we were unable to maintain the course. Since the greenkeeper s team were back working it was really hard to keep up with the cutting but every day there was progress made and along with your helpful comments we believe that the situation is gradually improving. We are really sorry that we cannot operate the office 7 days a week and 10 hours per day as we always used to but this year s circumstances made us operate upon request. I really hope that the next time you will visit us we will be able to offer you a golfing experience that you will enjoy in the outmost.
It was a pleasure having you with us and i hope you enjoyed your stay in Corfu.
With my kindest regards
Bia

Nice holiday

Thank you for the very warm atmosphere in your club!

I booked the Silverweek and played the course every morning for one week. With rising sun and awakening nature a dream.

Of course, the heat and dryness of the playground to but every day gave the greenkeepers their best.

The place is not long, not very heavy but with small pitfalls. Never lose the balls in the reeds.
However, there is enough time to search, there were hardly any other players.

Many thanks and a warm efkaristo until next year, Stefan S.
