A perfect golf day with sea views

Just 15 minutes by car from Platja d'Aro, this golf course offers a unique playing experience, thanks to its location and holes with sea and mountain views. Fairways, bunkers and greens have been improved. It is essential to end the day with a lunch on the terrace of Restaurant Forat 19: dishes and wines of first quality.

Condition of the course

We played golf D, Aro on the 24th September 2018 and was horrified to the courses condition. I am on the course committee at our local golf club. In the UK we have had a fabulous hot, dry summer. Not good for the fairways and putting greens. We concentrated on looking after the greens and bunkers and did not cut the fairways as often. Could you consider doing this at Golf D, Aro. This course with its fabulous views is too good to be allowed to be as bad as it is just now. If it does not improve the future does not look good. Bad news travels fast. Please do not let this happen.

this course has it all: spectaculare views on top of the mountain, quality, very good greens, fairways, bunkers. it's fun and challanging to play. if you happen to be in the vicinity, don't miss it. and the 19th hole offers good food.

As already written several times in reviews: the course would offer a wonderful golfing experience if it were in good condition. Played now in April 23, but we have stayed here several times, the first time about 15 years ago. Contrary to the manager's answers, the condition of the place is getting worse. Meanwhile (with the exception of the greens), extensive renovation of fairways and bunkers would be necessary (very hard, dry, grass-free or GUP, bunkers for it grassed or hard). The course is currently only recommended because of the challenging layout (you need a few balls...) in the beautiful hilly landscape and the great view, but not for a cultivated game of golf. The clubhouse (bar/restaurant) deserves more than 2 stars…

Beautiful setting with cuts in the B grade

Hello golf friends! Today, Pentecost Sunday 2022, we played the course. We have just returned from 6 days at the PGA Catalunja Resort and wanted to get out for a day. Since there were very different opinions, here is my evaluation in 2 parts: a rational and an emotional part.
Rationally: Club arrival OK... Clubhouse a bit rattled... Nice but not warm welcome... Driving range is like that... Way to tee 1 a bit long. The first 9 holes go around the Hapimag facility. The second 9 out wide and spectacular. Deductions quite different: sometimes small and sloping towards the edges... sometimes large and straight. Fairways very different and always different. Sometimes over a lake... sometimes narrow through the forest... sometimes very narrow along a steep slope. From the 4 with spectacular views. Vorgrüns a little unkempt but OK. Greens fast and OK and pretty exciting because there are a lot of waves. But now the bunkers. It takes a lot of getting used to because the high edges have grown (perhaps for cost reasons) but you can clearly see these old bunker edges. The bunkers that are left are flat and partly OK and partly not good. This is the biggest weak point here. The whole place looks a bit unkempt (now we are extremely spoiled by the PGA C). Club terrace and clubhouse nice with friendly staff.
Now my emotional assessment. The place is extremely beautiful! Rarely played such a great place with such varied fairways and views! It's absolutely worth it! Unfortunately, the place was very full today with very different players. So our round lasted 5 hours. Those who want to play perfect golf are better off in PGA C or Emporda. But if you want to experience a nice and exciting day of golf, this is the place for you. My recommendation: play and enjoy, but switch off the petty golf brain and overlook the not-so-great things. We enjoyed the place. Speaking of buggy: the course is good to play without a buggy! The pull trolleys are an impertinence (ancient) but the rental e-trollys don't work at all. But walking and pulling is OK. Unless you come from the Lower Rhine :-) and are also not good on foot.

We were there in September 2021. The course maintenance was consistently good. A very beautiful and varied golf course.
The price for the green fee despite the Hapimag discount is simply too high. There has been an increase of 50% in the last 3-4 years, which is not justified by rising costs or wages.

We played the course in September. Friends recommended we take a cart. You should do that too, at least e-trolley.
Accidentally played with a nice couple from Hanau and had a very nice round, which we then ended in the beautiful gastro.
The place is hardly forgiving. The lanes are not particularly narrow, but often fall steeply on the sides and the ball (for me there were quite a few) is gone or out of bounds.
We really liked the place, we often had a great view.
The course condition was good to very good, the greens pretty fast.

We have the place today on 11.11. played, and admittedly, I was somewhat surprised in the run up to the last bad reviews.

7 fairways, 9 greens, 7 greens, 5 sand bunkers and that, mind you, in WINTER. In the past 3 weeks the temperature was only just above the freezing point at night - there is no more grass growing... and there was always enough grass under the ball.
it is true that the greens 6 and 7 are in rather bad condition (lichens / mushrooms), but that can not be changed in winter. four more greens are partially affected, but these are playable without the ball bumping. all other greens were perfectly playable.

We have encountered here at Easter a wonderful, varied and scenic golf course, on which it still walked calm and relaxed this time of year.
Each track is unique. Many, some deep bunkers with unusual, coarse sand. Beautiful views. Incredibly quiet.
Due to the hilly landscape of the place is not quite as easy to handle on foot, a "mountain goats Square" but it is not. The back nine is tougher than the first, but even more special.
