Characteristics

Opened in 1920, Cill Dara Golf Club is a pretty nine-hole course which sits close to the Curragh Racecourse, home of the Irish Derby. The K Club, which will stage the Ryder Cup in 2006, is also close by. It's a flat heathland course where the danger comes in the shape of the trees and bushes which line the fairways. The clubhouse has a bar and catering facilities, while there is also a pro shop.

From Dublin take the N7 south west to Kildare town. The course has a par of 71 and measures just under 6000 metres. To get to Cill Dara, you take the N7 out of Dublin and head south-west to Kildare town.
