Cariari Country Club
This championship George Fazio designed course was founded in 1973. The land was once a coffee plantation. It is heavily wooded with narrow fairways and only a few fairway bunkers. The Bermuda grass greens are fairly large, fast and well-bunkered. One of the best in the country.

A Very Good Course
5.0 of 5 starsReviewed August 16, 2013
A 1979 George Fazzio design very similar in look, feel and playability to The Olympic Club Lake Course in San Francisco. A private course that offers access to tourists staying at nearby hotels or through www. golfcr. com

Better than average

Pretty hilly golf course with some sloping fairways.
Somewhat dated infrastructure but quite well maintained environment. Recommend caddy and cart.
For an average golf course there are 3 stars.

Demanding, varied round
4.0 of 5 starsReviewed March 6, 2019
Costa Rica is a dream destination but San José is a hectic, crowded place. Since a round of golf is the only right time distribution. After registration we had easy access and were very friendly welcome. Since we did not want to take a caddy, the Marshall led us briefly across the field, as in the rainy season two bridges were washed away and there are some diversions until the restoration. The place is well maintained, the paths for the cart are in poor condition. This course is varied, hilly and peppered with various Wasserhinternissen. The fairways are sometimes very narrow, precise game is in demand. Countless colorful bushes and mature trees adorn the square. Nevertheless, one can not deny that one plays on the edge of a big city; Verkerhslärm is omnipresent. The clubhouse and country club with a large sports pool are getting old. On the square you stand out as a visitor. The members of the club are mainly retirees from all sorts of countries, who live in houses on the area. However, we were approached immediately and invited for a drink. All in all a very nice experience.
