Course played on February 21st and 22nd, 2024. The (well-intentioned) 2 stars are given for the fantastic backdrop in the Highlands, up and down, interesting layout.
But the rest:
- there is no difference between T-Box, Fairway, Semirough or Rough; in Europe everything is about grass length semirough
- Greens: uneven, partly blank (without grass) partly with brown spots
- Bunkers: most of them don't have a rake, they are worked on in the morning and the last flight has to look...
- Etiquette: forget everything you once learned; Here you can play in pairs with the same rackets, no one is interested in blue jeans and a handicap is apparently not required: there were 2 men playing in front of us who hit the ball every third time and pushed it 10 m...
- Hand trolleys are not tolerated on the T-Box (slightly elevated), but the greenkeepers drive over them on motorcycles.
- Ground under Repair: several holes on each hole as soon as you are slightly outside the direct line.
- There is no Marshall, but there are 13 people hanging around at the Caddymaster who advertise themselves as caddy (fortunately not a must, we saw before us that they don't care about the rules either and just let them continue playing in the out / forbidden neighboring fairway /)

Cameron Highlands is actually a nice traditional English course in a beautiful environment.
