…if you're quickly turning off the highway onto a gravel road (which is easy to miss) in the evening from the very busy city of Bucharest. After about 3km, you'll come to a large entrance gate! There's a container pro shop, a round tent restaurant, and one or two more black containers (although they are well-maintained inside and out). The impression is that after the designer course was built, there was no money left for the clubhouse, pro shop, or paved road. The 18-hole course, in the best country design style, is really well situated in the gently rolling landscape. Undulating fairways and good greens are defended by large cloverleaf bunkers.
After the drive and initial impressions, you wouldn't expect such a good and varied golf course. A well-balanced layout, though not spectacular.
The people at the club were all very friendly and service-oriented! 4 stars and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the new Bucharest Golf Club can maintain its success! Visually, this course was just a hair's breadth ahead of the National Bucharest, in my opinion.
