I played a short round of golf in week 30 of July 2025. The green fee was €40 for 9 holes in the evening.
At first, I thought they were great fairways. With every hole I played, I became increasingly disappointed. The greens have huge dry patches, possibly even fungus. It's easy to putt through the hard-packed topsoil. This happens a lot on the fairways. Either the grass was mown too short – and all the grass was razed – or it wasn't watered enough, or something else. I often found myself placing my ball better. At least two tees should be closed. They're completely ruined, uneven, and there's hardly any grass.
All in all, not worth the green fee in this condition.
I then offered my feedback in person. Of course, I was denied, and the course's outstanding quality was emphasized, and I was told that I was alone in my opinion. Funnily enough, I had just played somewhere else in the region (30km away) two days earlier, and the greens were top-notch, the fairway was fantastic, etc. So it must be due to the way the course is maintained, and not my perception.
Conclusion: just play somewhere else!

Yes, at the end of July 2025, there were unfortunately some dry patches on several greens—not a huge number, really. Unfortunately, the weather in spring wasn't favorable. This, coupled with previously damaged greens and possibly our own mistakes, led to this damage. Nevertheless, the greens play well, and the consistent feedback, especially from the rest of the course, is very good. We would also like to offer visually perfect greens. They are already on their way to regrowing and should be pristine again in a few weeks.
It was a sweltering evening, and the gentleman I spoke to personally afterward probably didn't play well. In any case, he didn't even want to take the time for a beer. Of course, it's always the course's fault. However, messing up the fairway is completely unfair to our greenkeepers, who give their best every day.
Back to the greens, where criticism is justified: The green with the most damage is the putting green. Two days later, we held a German Putting League competition on it, which was a lot of fun for all participants. It was no problem.
Poor play is no reason for a refund of the green fee. Such ratings are unfortunate, ruin a lot of things, and especially don't help third parties. ZERO stars for that.

We played the 27 holes yesterday and didn't think what a golf course pearl awaits us here in East Friesland. Fantastic facility with great old trees, very well-kept fairways and greens and very varied courses. Lanes 1-18 are very similar in design and we liked them best. Golf like in Sanssouci Park. The 4th hole should be emphasized: We felt a little like the Signature Hole in Augusta. The holes 19-27 were also beautifully laid out, but to our taste too monotonous (almost exclusively very long par 4 and par 5). But if you like that, you will find it great.
All members, the greenkeepers and the reception in the club secretariat were very friendly and helpful.
Price-performance ratio simply top: From October 15th you pay only 36 € on weekdays, with an Albrecht voucher of 20% even less than 30 € for 27 holes!
Then a pot of tea and a crumble cake in the wonderful restaurant Blauer Fasan.
You have to play this course if you are traveling in the northwest.
One point of criticism: the pictures here on Albrecht do not even begin to reflect the beauty of the square.

The 27-hole course in Wiesmoor is certainly with the best facilities in northern Germany. A very good maintenance of the entire system. Right on the site there is no way something to eat or drink. But only 100 meters from the place where the Secretariat and the highly recommended hotel / restaurant "Blauer Fasan" is located, you can relax with very good food and drinks after the round played. As a recommendation, book a package with accommodation and green fees daily at the Blue Pheasant. So you can play the whole course in peace and enjoy.
