An entertaining course

A word of advice: this course is on the side of a mountain so either use a buggy or an electric trolley! It really is very hilly but great fun to play. A tad on the short side but don't let that put you off - still very much of a challenge. Very well looked after with nice greens. The staff are friendly and it has a nice clubhouse and restaurant. Recommended.

A Northern Portugal Gem

The 10 minute drive from Amarante to this extremely scenic course gives you a good clue as to the terrain you can expect. Yes, it's hilly. But the course winds it's way over the valley and through the trees, and there are some stunning golf holes. All different. It's a great course with good fairways and greens. 7 par threes make for a non standard sort of challenge. There are also a couple of very good short par 4 holes. They look easy but they are not. Lofty tees, plus lots of undulations and pine trees if you stray wide of the fairways make the course tricky. Although it's a shortish par 68, I would rank it as difficult. Take an electric cart... it's steep but very enjoyable. Great restaurant too. Recommended.

Lucky won't go to bed without a buggy part 2

After Ponte di Lima the next mountain goat course. Always up and down. Tees from above or upwards, doglegs, narrow lanes. The course is a challenge that is fun. A buggy is a must. The service is excellent and the restaurant is worth recommending. An hour outside of Porto, you can combine golf with a visit to the beautiful town of Amarante. Absolute recommendation.

Without a buggy it does not work

We played the place at the end of September. Thanks to the positive reviews, we were delighted. But already after hole 1 the joy was tarnished. Unclear and the train was in bad shape. The balls jumped as they wanted and then disappeared in the high rough. Bahn 3 was similar. They played blind. Overall, it was a bit better. The green was very small and as mentioned in the title, without a buggy the place is hardly playable. A constant up and down... Positive was the friendliness of the staff and the z. T. beautiful views. 150 € including buggy for 2 persons were clearly too much. In spring the place is definitely better.

Challenging golf on a beautiful course

I played the course on 01.11.2016 in fine weather and was thrilled. It is a beautifully into the landscape eingebundener golf course which is very challenging but due to its elevation changes, sometimes difficult situated greens, water hazards and bunkers. But because of the views, such as the tea 1,11 or 13 (with the view of the river Tâmega) is the place very impressive. The fairways were mostly in good condition, the greens all excellent, some set high, surrounded by water, on the sides falling away and very quickly.
However, if you do not know the place, it is sometimes difficult to find the hole belonging Green. At the restaurant they not only overlooks the golf course, but also the food was good, plentiful and at an attractive price.

Unexpectedly

A really interesting place.
Dominant, always up and down. For running more than sophisticated but also to play a challenge. The reductions are not to be underestimated. In particular, the pair 3 holes, either deep or up or down is not easy.
The tracks are a good condition and the greens quite challenging.
The staff is extremely helpful and the kitchen in the clubhouse very regional, which is positive, aligned (no burgers!).
No course which is overrun by tourists; on Sunday played in glorious sunshine without any time pressure.
If one is in the north, a must!
