Gem in mountains
4.0 of 5 starsReviewed November 7, 2022
Spain golf vacation 4/5. Coming to Costa del Sol to play some good courses. This course is highlight of our trip, its our gem in our trip.
We loved mountains so we loved this course. It was a bit drive from Nueva Anadalucia but worth of it. Once arrived we had that wow effect. We had very easy checking and we felt welcome, I would not comment training areas because we did not go. Course is starting with easy par 5 and than exciting par 4 and we thought we seen the best, but no. Par 3 as 3rd hole is preparation for what will coma later. On next holes are many great shots and great views, love it. Obviously I prefer front nine, despite I believe back nine is most probably easier. If I have to choose signature hole I will have a problem but would go for 5 or 13. Value for price is really 5 stars there, because its much cheaper than down at coast. For sure will come back to play again. We had lunch at restaurant and it was also very good and tasty.

Tricky golf stunning scenery

Stunning mountain course, its eccentric (Like Sevvy) and difficult even for single figure handicappers, but well worth the trip! You need balls to play this course (In more respects than one!!) But you wont be disappointed. I will be back to try to master it challenges later this year again.

Beautifully integrated into the landscape
4.0 of 5 starsReviewed November 9, 2024
We, HCP 13 + 18, played the course in early November 2024 after the heavy rains. The course was of course still wet, but playable.
The first 9 holes were very challenging as there were steep uphill and downhill sections. The course was well-filled, which is normal for all courses there. However, here you could see that the special features/demands of the course meant that many players often teed off twice... that takes time, but it's not the course's fault...-) The reception was very friendly and the atmosphere was good all around.
The price/performance ratio is very good, as many places cost twice as much. However, some things are a bit outdated.
The restaurant has a nice terrace, good dishes and fast, friendly service.

Buggy with broken brakes
2.0 of 5 starsReviewed April 21, 2024
Interesting place, varied tracks, broken buggies, either without a windscreen or with broken brakes, so that when going downhill one side of the wheels would lock and the buggy would suddenly spin, throwing a person out of the buggy. That's not acceptable!

Never more
2.0 of 5 starsReviewed March 18, 2024
Below-average condition, many paths with extreme inclines that cannot be seen. Losses of the ball despite good shots have to be taken into account. Golfamore card is only accepted early in the morning and late in the afternoon (which is not stated on the websites).
The very beautiful landscape with many differences in altitude is better enjoyed by taking a walk. I like difficult places, which are often found on the Costa de Sol, but this is an adventure playground. Even for free, this place isn't worth the trip for me. Then it's better to play Lauro in the neighborhood.

Very fair price-performance ratio; Three and a half stars
3.0 of 5 starsReviewed January 7, 2024
We played the course at the beginning of January 2024. The condition of the place is somewhat poor. A buggy is a must here, as with most places in the area. The paths go up and down a lot and the paths between the individual holes can be long. The buildings are a bit old. What we really liked here is that everything is close to each other and the atmosphere is pleasantly calm. You will be treated very pleasantly here. The coffee on the club terrace was probably the cheapest of the entire vacation.
Overall, a nice day of golf.
Three and a half stars.

Spectacular
5.0 of 5 starsReviewed January 5, 2024
This place is characterized by incredible differences in height. Not even Reinhold Messner would play this course without a buggy. It's almost a kilometer from the 18th hole to the clubhouse - that should be unique. The 18 holes are very varied with fantastic views of the mountains. No two holes are the same and you are constantly faced with new challenges. It is true that some holes have to be played blind and you will have enormous difficulties if you play the course for the first time. But this is no different for many places in Spain. The condition of the place was perfect. Kudos to the greenkeepers who look after such an extreme course so well. For us, without a doubt, one of the most exciting golf courses on the Costa del Sol.

Away from the hustle and bustle in the mountains
3.0 of 5 starsReviewed November 26, 2023
We played here in November 2023. Starting from the pro shop to the driving range - everything is a bit run down. The place and its design were quite ok. The views are sometimes great. In contrast to the places by the sea, we had a relatively spontaneous tee time here.

Well - no...
3.0 of 5 starsReviewed May 7, 2021
We (Hcp 10 and 12) know almost all places on the Costa del Sol. In terms of the scenery (view and, in some cases, the design of the square), Alhaurin was very well received by us. We just asked ourselves why we took the golf clubs with us. A leisurely hike would have been more effective.
The fairways were in average condition. At the moment there are countless places in much better condition down by the sea. The greens, on the other hand, were excellent, if a little slower than usual in the area. There is nothing wrong with the price, although it was probably much cheaper than usual at the time, mainly because of Corona (EUR 100 for 2 GF with buggy). The staff was ok to very friendly.
We didn't like the fact that you couldn't buy a birdiebook in order to be able to assess the many blind holes as a novice to some extent. Some ricochets were therefore logical. And then the unfortunately common evil down here: All tees are far too far forward. The already short place became a Mickey Mouse place. The design of the square can sometimes inspire - but it is often completely idiotic, especially for newbies, because you don't get any clue as to where to look. The whole great view is not really of much use.
So I think it is like one of my favorite judges in this area (Tigerline, 2014): Conclusion "Well" - supplemented with a clear "no". I'm not coming back here. Then much better chaparral. Similar difficult, but a fair bit fairer.

Always happy
5.0 of 5 starsReviewed February 12, 2021
We have played the course several times in the past few years and will continue to do so with pleasure, if only because of the beautiful scenery.
Even in midsummer, the course is never really unplayable. With one or the other track, the course is difficult to see if you don't know the tracks or have no technical aids with you. As in Spain there are often some tracks where the ball likes to disappear into the slope. The greens were always in good shape and fast.
All in all an interesting and difficult but not unfair place. Gastronomy unfortunately closed last June, otherwise good and cheap, with the secretariat there were never any problems

Beautiful and challenging golf course
5.0 of 5 starsReviewed December 17, 2019
The golf course is beautiful, the streets are very well maintained and the greens are in perfect condition. The views of the first 9 holes are spectacular.
It is a seemingly difficult field, with blind strokes but after playing a couple of times you end up finding the trick.

The place is not good to its visitors!!!
Many good balls jump into the thicket, even with the help of a place description!
Who needs frustration, is right here.
The condition of the greens is very good, the rest... well, could be better.
The scenery is very nice!

Nice adventure playground
4.0 of 5 starsReviewed December 6, 2018
In terms of course layout, one of the most exciting assets I've ever played. Tricky, but if you have your woods under control, pure pleasure.
The reviews and descriptions here are perfect, with one exception: the balls, perhaps also due to the heavy rain of the last few weeks, never jumped unpredictably or even unfairly on our rounds on the 17th and 18th of November.
Otherwise, everything as described by the previous speakers: the condition of the fairways and the Semiroughs could be significantly better, the greens are really good, the tracks are wild in the mountainous landscape integrated, the price / performance ratio is excellent.
You could add that the Gastro is exceptionally cheap, that we were helped in the Secretariat very well and uncomplicated, as we had to reschedule because of the weather, and that I can only guess everyone, in addition to the purchase of the Birdie Book before the first round also to look at the webs "appgolfer" the tracks - there are excellent drone videos there. So armed, the place is even of white bezwingbar.

Heaviest place
2.0 of 5 starsReviewed November 11, 2018
Played the course on 9.11.2018 and it was quite a nuisance. We were only 20 minutes late, and that at 14.30, because no buggies were available and a lot of players on the pitch. On track 3, the cart gave up its ghost as it was not fully charged. Now we have been waiting 30 minutes for a new one!! And we were not the only ones who got stuck with the battery empty. The place was very hard to play, because no fairway is straight and the ball is not left lying, a lot of blind blows, therefore also a lot of balls needed! Overall, a place that certainly no longer sees us despite a favorable green fee.

Price / performance value
4.0 of 5 starsReviewed November 3, 2018
We have paid € 125 for 2 green fees & buggy (03.11.), Therefore, price / service is absolutely. The fairways are not as green as other places in the area, but ok. Greens are very fast. The course is a challenge, even for the lower handicaps. We had to wait 10 minutes before tee on a buggy (starting time 12:20 h), a bit difficult. But still worth a trip who shies no mountain landscape. View by the way great.

Two different 9 holes
3.0 of 5 starsReviewed March 6, 2018
The first 9 holes are exciting and very hilly. The second 9 are boring or simple by comparison.
There are many blind blows waiting for the golfer! Even fairways hit in the middle let the ball roll for a long time. Most of the time off (the fairway consists of hard ground with some tufts of grass) on sloping fairways runs well hit ball across the track on the other side out. The bunkers are full of stones (we have often put out with punches) Greenkeeping- Nil! On the second 9 it goes past a new building, everywhere rubble and packaging material - an insult to the beautiful landscape. Good practice possibilities and 9 hole par3 course.
Conclusion: Good space for CROSSGOLFER only with Cart

Great views
4.0 of 5 starsReviewed February 10, 2018
A remarkable golf course with some weaknesses. We Handicap 18 and 23 played the course several times in February 2018. As already described, the first 9 holes are very tricky, as many blind blows are necessary. From the second round you know where to play. The haircuts and the very fast greens (almost all raised) are in top condition. The fairways are very dry and unfortunately very spotty with some earthy places.
The views on the first 9 holes are sensational. From sea views to snow-capped peaks - everything is visible. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The carts were ok We did not try the restaurant.
We enjoyed the place and have the weaknesses in the price / performance ratio as absolutely ok (2 green fee + Buggy 72, - Euro)

Ranging from the office where you as a paying customer as a petitioner happens to the caddy masters that corroded a part, to be controlled unfit efficient drivetrain with dangerous and assign smelly gasoline drives and brook no opposition, the service is just underground. Much time should bring the game also, because we have in every game take on the pitch as long waiting periods that we were about 5 hours on a regular basis, because no marshal was to see who organizes the game reasonable have, this, although the course is varied and challenging and actually slightly better deserved.

February 2016 as a single-player -Mitte 60, with desire in this hilly place for a Cart, -short and crisp at the reception we not -have, 16 carts are in repair, who cares?
So friends, it did not work, then spend a few more euros and carts. With € 28, - to 35, - € will not succeed.
Nevertheless topographically beautiful place with varied holes.

We (male, both HCP 11) have played the course on 01/03/15.
Cart rented (no it's not) and losgelegt!
The first 9 holes are very hilly and you play either up or down with really great views.
The back nine are somewhat flatter but not uninterresanter.
Point deduction is available for the non-supercharged Cart (has stopped after 12 holes) and the unfriendly receptionist. (Called possessions in the office because I was told I should bring the cart to the caddy master, since it would then be replaced!! As for without battery? Should I push?) Calls After again came after half an hour the caddy master and exchanged the Cart,

We (my wife and I Hcp 18 Hcp 5) were mid-August on the spot.
Also just (too long) shocks can sometimes Vedas punished. The quality of fairways is only weak.
If so, then you should play the course several times so that man knows where it's going and how long you can play balls.
So we of course never see werder, but there will certainly be people he likes.

Golf and look into the distance
4.0 of 5 starsReviewed August 15, 2014
We played the course on 13.08.2014. The first 9 holes are terrific, great view of the mountains and towards the Mediterranean. Of course, the place in August is very dry and the fairways in places quite hard. It applies to many blind shots to master, buy Birdiebook!!! Buggy is required. The second 9 holes are easier to play, but also a bit boring. All in all, a successful blend. The greens were tasty total of in a proper condition, the staff friendly and the food in the clubhouse. Price / performance ratio very good!

Very beautiful and varied course
4.0 of 5 starsReviewed November 19, 2013
We (handicap seven and nine) have enjoyed this place very much. Very tastefully still in the countryside, in good condition. Again and again once beautiful views towards the sea and the other in the hinterland to the many mountains of the Sierra Blanca. Very good players a treat, sometimes probably a bit difficult for beginners. On this course is required in addition to the exact tactical game. Value for money fantastic!
We have decided after nine holes to the first nine more times to play there before us were two flights Free with players that have gone. At this place a stroller is definitely a must!
We will definitely play this course a few times! However, the catering at the club is less recommended! The staff are very helpful, but the cooking is not the best!

Scenic jewel in the hinterland
4.0 of 5 starsReviewed October 23, 2013
The course is unique in the hinterland of the Costa del Sol and offers beautiful views over again. Scenic highlight is the sixth hole.
The first nine holes are challenging, varied and exciting. The fun gets a little "nothing" marred by many "blind" shots into so sometimes long search for the ball even in apparently successful shock is necessary. The second nine holes are clearly flat, but unspectacular and boring.
An Electro is strongly recommended, although these are not exactly up to date. Also recommended is the lunch menu, which can be booked for an additional charge of one euro in special arrangements.

've Played here twice in February 2012. Very busy place but well maintained. Buggy required, but not included in the green fee (Winter Special Action).
Since many greens from the tee are not visible, it is difficult to play for place novice. Most large greens and wide fairways. Since the place is very hilly run many balls that...

An almost alpine course in southern Spain.
4.0 of 5 starsReviewed September 8, 2009
Equal to the first tee is almost an adventure - especially in the morning, towards the sun, right and left rocky scree slopes. Approx. half the fairways requires a similarly precise game. As a consolation: On the road to find most retailers ball. At times, a buggy is included in the green fee, which can be very welcome if you are not very well walk.
Very good food. Distance from the coast (Fuengirola) about 12 km.
