Laborant the best!

Me and My husband played Alboran for 5 weeks in november 2015 and november 2016. Excellent well taken care of course. Staff is wonderful! Staff in bodega is wonderful! We will be back in November 2017! Love this place! We (me and my husband) are hcp17 and 18.

We were playing in Alboran Golf in January. It was great. The weather was perfect around 18 degree.
The Golf course also was good for play, very atractive for the amateur player, with a good desing, and the staff very friendly, you really feel confortable there. Special thanks to Jose Ramon, the director.
I do suggest you to visit the "chiringuito" with good food and "tapas".

We played here with two people for 25 euros each with the Golfamore card. We were allowed to park our motorhome on the site overnight. The simple clubhouse was very well attended. Simple but good. The gentleman at the registration desk was also very nice. For extremely little money, a decent performance. The space is always a matter of everyone's taste anyway.

Average Golf Course

I played 4 rounds on the course at a WAGR tournament. As far as the view is concerned, the place is relatively nice, with a view of the sea to the south and a moon-like landscape to the north. Unfortunately the place itself isn't really the best. The fairways are good, but the greens are often very different, which then affects the directional stability. Some greens are extremely slow, some are fast, some break a lot and some don't break at all. The layout is ok, but nothing more.
In my opinion you will find the better places if you drive further towards Malaga, Marbella, Gibraltar.
All in all, Alborán is an average course to play, but I wouldn't necessarily recommend it.

I noticed positively:
- The friendliness of the staff
- The length of the course and the fact that the tees (white/yellow/blue/red) of most holes were only slightly shortened (and not downright cranked as is often the case in Spain at this time of the year).
- The good quality of the bunkers.
Still, the place is just average for me. This is mainly because:
- Although the individual holes differ somewhat, they are not very exciting to play (it is quite difficult to lose a ball...).
- The greens are different in terms of texture and tracking.
- The whole ambience seems a bit profane (or to put it positively: uncomplicated).
- The environment with the partly unfinished houses, at least visually, does not really represent an added value.
- The installations (clubhouse containers, restaurant, on-site facilities) are somewhat degraded.
The course joins the long list of similar courses between Valencia and Malaga. There are a few positive outliers in this section, but the really nice, good and challenging courses on the Spanish Mediterranean coast are, in my opinion, mainly between the border and Barcelona and then again on the Costa del Sol/Golf in Andalusia.
