The 5-star Vidago Palace Hotel can look back on a long and illustrious history, starting with King Carlos of Portugal laying its foundation. Vidago is famous for its therapeutic healing water, which still flows from the many different fountains in the hotel’s 10 ha large park. After careful renovations, the hotel reopened as part of the consortium “Leading Hotels of the World” and now offers 70 rooms and suites. There are six different types of rooms, all of them with the most up-to-date equipment. The restaurant “Salao Nobre” serves exquisite Portuguese cuisine, while the winter garden offers a buffet. You can enjoy light snacks at the Juice Bar or fresh fish and salads in the club house. Furthermore there is a pool and a Lounge Bar. The spa was designed according to Zen philosophy and includes 20 treatment rooms where guests can enjoy traditional treatments with the local healing water, aroma therapy and beauty treatments. There are also different saunas and gym rooms for yoga and fitness. Another highlight is the hotel’s own 18-hole championship course that stands out for its elevated tee-offs and greens and strategically placed bunkers. The first nine holes run through a relatively flat, wooded area, while the second nine allow wonderful views. The hotel also offers a golf academy, a 340 m long driving range, a chipping area and two putting greens.
