Still the best in Portugal

Played again in Nov 2023 and the course and design us still the best in Portugal.
The club had a few weeks ago a big fire, which burnt the waist land around the fairways but did not impacted the fairways or greens.
The club house is now looking a bit tired and they should do some improvements.
Very friendly staff.

Just the best!!!

Played as a single handicaper end Feb 2020 a few times this georgeous course.
Its a dream! Every hole just an experience.
Fairways and greens in superb quality and very frienfly staff.
One of the best of the over 200 courses I have played, may be even the very best.
Greenfees are high but friving range balls and Electro Car are included.
So if you take these costs out, then the course is cheaper then a few others around Faro.
Everybody should have played this course once...

What a lovely day in March

Was recommended Monte Rei, thank you very much! Early tee time then delightfull tapas were included.
We 2 girls with grey hair played from silver tee - our best golf at the Algarve coast - and we will be back next year!

Best in Algarve & Portugal, and top in Europe!

Let's start with the most important: MR is a great golf course! Challenging, hilly, varied, mint condition! Then in addition, outstanding practice facilities (come early so that you can use them!), club house, shop & facilities in the same league, and then a fantastic restaurant!
What then makes Monte Rei one of the best in Europe is that you feel very welcomed as a guest, and even as a mid-handicaper. The course, the practice facilities and the service is all there for you. It's not an exclusive club where you feel you are intruding, or isn't really welcome. MR is world class!

Don't miss this.

If you are in the Tavira area this is a must play. It's a cracking layout. Challenging but very playable. Everything about the place is top notch. Highly recommended.

One of the best places

I played the course twice with my wife in June 2023. Despite the heat and drought, the place was an experience and in good condition. Every hole is spectacular and fun to play. The timing of the tee times guarantees that there is no waiting or pushing. The staff were incredibly warm and nice. The driving range has style and fits beautifully into the ambience. Drinks and ice cubes were included in the buggy. There was also the opportunity to purchase additional drinks during the round. Here, too, the responsible employee was simply incredibly nice. Only the pro shop could be better equipped, but that doesn't detract from the overall impression.

Overall one of the best places we have played so far. We'd love to come back.

Must keep standard

At this green fee level, you can expect a certain course quality and, above all, corresponding services.
Here it is important for the campsite operator to maintain the standard in the long term!
I've played the course twice - each time an experience!
Challenges that have to be mastered.

Bad Condition

I played a round today. Unfortunately, the fairways have not received water for a long time. They are yellow and feel like sand. Finding a white ball is a challenge, with the e-cart, which is mandatory, you could only drive down the cart path, if I was on the wrong side I was always allowed to run back and forth, strange with a cart. It just wasn't worth the €220.
The bunkers are well placed and don't like to release the ball. Accurate shots are required.

Thank you for your review.

Your golf booking was through a tour operator that unfortunately did not communicate the information we sent them about the situation on the fairways before your arrival. This is understandably frustrating.
We want every client to arrive armed with the information to make an informed decision. In addition, each of your players received a credit of 30€ against food and drinks at the buggy bar and clubhouse as compensation for the fairway situation.

We are working tirelessly with the authorities to improve the allocation of water to allow us to irrigate the whole course and return the visual conditions back to normal.

It's okay though

We played at the end of March 2022. Yes, the complex is impressive, you get a lot of offers from the valet / club cleaning service to the locker rooms and shoe cleaning service on request.
The course is also very challenging, bunkers are very well strategically placed and drive length is not as important as precision.
Nevertheless, many little things did not fit: You are only allowed on the range 1 hour before teeing off, there are a few cigarette butts on the fairways and tees, the greens have some pitch marks, some of the ball cleaners were defective and all the garbage cans on the back 9 were like that full that the garbage has partially looked out.
All in all, no deal breakers, but we're talking about a green fee of EUR 220 at the time, for this price you expect more perfection.

Great design, great service, great condition

Played on 09/06/2022. The classy 18-hole course, which describes itself as the number 1 golf course in Portugal, is located near the Spanish border above the 22 motorway in the Algarve hinterland. The homepage promises a unique service for us golfers and when you enter the clubhouse, you can also feel a touch of luxury. The course was designed by Jack Nicklaus, which you can clearly see in the many and sometimes very large bunkers with high edges. The course was perfectly integrated into the landscape. The views of the course of the fairways from the respective mostly elevated tees are always fascinating (don't forget your camera). In addition to the bright white bunkers, there are some water hazards and easy doglegs. You should play more strategically here, even if many tees are open. One or the other route to the fairway or the PAR 3 to the green has to be overcome over water or rough. There are 4 tees and for the gentlemen, higher HC is a good idea to play from silver instead of gold. You play in absolute peace and nature. And yes, the nature around the golf course is clearly marked by the major fire in spring 2022, but the golf course can't do anything about that and it doesn't detract from the design either. Nature is slowly recovering and that is already looking good in one place or another. Every now and then you pass magnificent villas, but they don't bother you. The condition of the place was absolutely fine. Green fairways, fast and true greens with little brown spots. The discounts were little worn, which is probably a result of the rather manageable game operation. You can view and book the start times (relaxed 12-minute rhythm) on the homepage. But then you have to pay directly. I requested a tee time via email and received confirmation quickly. You then have to provide your credit card details, as well as your HC and nationality, as a guarantee. If you don't cancel in time, you have to pay. Which brings us to the price. The normal rate including cart is currently €220 per player. If you play after 3 p.m., you still pay €170 for a sundowner. It's steep, but it's worth it. The obligatory cart is included in the price and makes sense, since the course has large differences in height and one or the other way to the next tee is a bit longer. The carts have GPS, of course, and small towels and two small bottles of water are provided for each player. The range balls are also included in the price. There is also theoretically a valet service, an explanation service with accompaniment to the range and to the first tee, a club cleaning after the round and at the end a BagTag with an engraved name as a gift. If you book the sundowner, however, one or the other service, such as the BuggyBar on the round, can sometimes be omitted or only take place once. The game operation in our round on a Tuesday afternoon (sundowner) was extremely manageable. At 3:12 p.m. we were the last to go on the loop and we didn't run into anyone until 6 p.m. The sprinklers were turned on behind us, some of the greenkeepers were already waiting until we were through. Sometimes it was so lonely on the round that you got a bad feeling when the cart had to be parked a little further away from the green. After the round you have the choice between three restaurants. From the grill restaurant to the starred restaurant. Sanitary, showers and changing rooms are of the finest available. Even the toilets on the circuit are almost wellness oases. Lt. A second place is planned on the homepage, but you don't see anything of it. The project was probably canceled or postponed. The employees, from the lady in the pro shop, through the starter to the club washer, were all very friendly and professionally oriented. You will then actually be taken to the driving range, picked up again and then accompanied to the first tee. There you will receive an intensive briefing when you are there for the first time. Actually, almost everything is perfect for a nice round, if it weren't for the price, which is ultimately a bit too high. But because of the ingenious Jack Nicklaus design, then 5 stars. Ultimately, everyone has to decide for themselves whether the course is number 1 in Portugal once they have played all the courses in Portugal. For the Eastern Algarve at least I would confirm No. 1.

Nice place, but absolutely overpriced

I played Monte Rei in early June 2022. With a green fee of €220, I thought long and hard about playing at all. I'm glad I did as the layout and service is great.
But the course can no longer claim to be number one in Portugal in my opinion. Unfortunately, last year's forest fire severely affected the optics. And the condition of the place is absolutely not worth €220.

Disappointing

We were there in May 2022. A (actually) great facility with good service. However, I don't have a comparison to before. The fairways are in very poor condition and far from worth the green fee. Dried grass and extremely hard ground. The greens are usually fast - but here too some are in poor condition. The tracks are well integrated into the landscape and are certainly great to play in better condition. The overpriced beer from the buggy bar comforted us a little. Unfortunately, we had to do without a souvenir in the form of a club shirt; five models and all in S or M (for men).

Currently not worth playing

Played in November 2021. Shortly after the reservation in September, I received an email with the information that there were forest fires in the region in September, the place was not directly affected, but the surroundings were sometimes a bit ugly. Top service on site, so far everything is good. However, almost all trees and plants have burn marks, the optics of the tracks suffer so completely, no comparison to the pictures on the website. We received a €20 voucher for the restaurant, which is nice, but then it was still €200 green fee, unfortunately far too much for this "experience". It's absolutely unfortunate, but it wasn't much fun there, and the fairways weren't lush green like Quinta da Cima/da Ria, for example.

Was a 5 star place

Since we played this course a few years ago and awarded 5 stars +, we had to go back to Monte Rei.
Nothing has changed in the unique layout, you only see the current hole and usually no other players. 18 valleys, 18 holes.
The staff is still very friendly, but the outstanding service of the past is gone.
The condition is mediocre at best and what really annoyed me are the very different fast greens. From lightning fast to excruciatingly slow, there was obviously a fungal infestation here some time ago.
The course is pretty easy to play (if you don't take champions yellow). Since a buggy is included, the power should be enough to play his handicap.
The views over the interesting courses are still nice, but a big fire last year spoiled the area badly. A ball washer can be found at most every 4 holes and towels certainly not.
Now I hear: but Corona and fire you can't do anything... Ok, but a normal green fee of €220 is a joke and even for the twilight green fee of €170 I expect a lot more from a course.
Conclusion: for 100.-€ per person I would think about it, but the place is history for me for the foreseeable future.

Dear Oldive,

I am sorry for your review. We have had many fantastic reviews this week about the course from clients staying and visiting us, including it's conditioning and the service from our team. The fire has been yes, but this does not impact on the golf course itself, just the surrounding areas.

Regarding the price, we have included a buggy with GPS and practice for one hour before play with premium range balls included. This would be 50 - 60€ extra at all other course in the Algarve.

We do hope to see you back and wish you a great golfing season.

Almost excellent

The high standard of the Monte Rei golf course can be sensed as soon as you enter the clubhouse. The bags are loaded onto a cart and the car is parked by the staff. A starter sets the times for the driving range and we were accompanied to the first tee. Although all start times were fully booked, we hardly saw any other players as the flights were spaced out at 12 minutes. In addition, the respective tracks are so cleverly embedded in the hilly landscape that each track is in its own valley. The distances to the next tee are sometimes correspondingly long. The course is extremely challenging to play, there are many strategic holes, risky play can be very rewarding on the one hand, but it can also be severely punished for mistakes.
The fairways were cut very short, but some of them were very dry at the time the game was played, so precise iron play was essential. The greens were freshly sanded, but playable and fast enough. The course has many bunkers and water hazards on 11 lanes, which are best left out of play. There are many elevated tees and often a view of the landscape, which, however, is very clouded by many surrounding trees charred by a forest fire. The staff were friendly, but the food fell a bit short of the high standard.
The layout of the course is excellent, but the dry fairways, the view of the burnt trees and the rather average food did not contribute to the award of five stars.

Dear m. heller,

Thank you for your kind review and for playing with us.

Regarding the fairways, we have bermuda grass type.

Bermudagrass is one of the most important and widely adapted warm season turfgrass species. Limitations to Bermuda grass and warm season grasses in general are that they go dormant and turn a tan straw color in areas that get below freezing temperatures, to some this is an unattractive feature.
Location and Weather Patterns have an Impact The climate and weather patterns of your location have a huge influence on fall color retention of Bermuda grass, and what you are able to do as a turf manager to influence fall color retention of Bermuda grass. A good general rule of thumb for Bermuda grass growth is 55 F. Bermuda grass generally will not begin to green up in the spring with a soil temperature below 55 F (taken at a 4” depth), and in the fall Bermuda grasses will start to lose their green color when the soil temperature drops below 55 F. When soil temperatures drop to and below 55 F, Bermuda grass has difficulty producing chlorophyll more rapidly than it is degrading in the plant, particularly with high light intensity. As a result the turfgrass will start lose its dark green color. All Bermuda grass will go dormant with air temperatures below 32 F.

The loss of color does not affect the playability of the surfaces, it is merely visual thing. Many countries that use Bermuda grass choose to over seed with a cold season grass when temperatures change, our policy is to maintain quality and consistency for our, members, residents and visiting clients.

We do hope to see you return in the future to see if we can make it a 5 start visit.

One putt wishes,

The Golf Team

Layout is just nothing everything!

Great layout and some tracks are uniquely created (especially 13 + 14) friendliness and courtesy was absolutely there, but I expect a 5 star system, although nothing to the contrary has ever happened to me in Portugal.

We had 2 rounds as part of a Stay&Play package.
The place consisted only of fairway, everything mowed short, I didn't think it was world class.
On our 2nd round, the greens had been aerated without warning, and when asked about it in the clubhouse, they ticked it off as "bad luck".

How the place comes about on its high slope is a mystery to me, because difficult looks different.

On the round: Apparently the members use the long distances between the tee times to look for and fish for balls and are not interested in the following flight.
Because you don't meet on the opposite lane, you can't tell the front flight that you're standing and waiting...
So much for the great layout - each lane for itself.
Marshall hasn't been seen since tea 1 either.

Unfortunately, a lot of things burned down all around, so that you can only guess how great it used to be.

About the accommodation: 5 stars are attached to the outside - but are not included!
From filthy sun lounger cushions to patio doors that didn't close properly, mold in the bathroom at 5* nogo.

Restaurants in the clubhouse apparently open according to occupancy, with us there was little going on.
Unfortunately, the complex is in the middle of nowhere, and no matter which route you take, even Portugal uncharacteristically bad roads.
In addition, there are kilometers of cucumbers within the complex, to the villa.

And if the Golf Restaurant spontaneously closes again, it's a long drive to the next restaurant.

In the middle of nowhere, very unlikely to be repeated even with realistic prices.

Before there are complaints:
Have seen a lot and HCP under 10,
and only 3 stars from me

Great layout - poor condition

The architecture of the square is really sensational and worth the trip. We played on November 4th, 2021. Unfortunately, the pandemic and fire have made the place suffer. Slow and broken greens, dry fairways and tee boxes. Despite the € 20 voucher, it is by no means worth the price.

Okay - but not great

We played Monte Rey on 09/15/2020.100 KM journey from Portimao accepted, place is "in the middle of nowhere", reception, caddy master very friendly, cart and range balls included, nevertheless, 440 € for 2 people is already an announcement.

In fact, every track actually has its own valley, yet you don't have a really beautiful view or a spectacular tee anywhere, everything is rather functional, the fairways are rolled flat, the bunkers a challenge and the greens flawless - but that's not all.

To be honest, I can't quite understand the hype surrounding Monte Rei. I prefer the places in Germany or Austria with lush greens and beautiful views, and that for half the green fee - maximum.

Just gorgeous

As part of our stay at the nearby Robinson Club Quinta da Ria, we played the course in the spring of 2016-2017 and 2018 - and each time we were again very pleased with space and organization. This is simply highly professional - from check-in to e-carts, marshall, starter, driving range, etc.
The course itself is crisp, not easy to play, and unfortunately not playable without e-cart. But still a pleasure - the different lanes really make their mark, every lane is completely different, most of the time you feel like you are traveling alone. The paths between the tracks is long (therefore e-cart duty), but are rarely seen other golfers.
The price is of course high, but if you know that they are not really dependent on green fee players, you understand that.
In the clubhouse one expects a name plaque after the first two rounds - but from the third on there is no more.
All in all a fantastic place, the green, the white bunkers, the blue water and the wonderful sky - a madness. Should one play, if one is already in the proximity (no 10 minutes by taxi from the RC Quinta da Ria!) Another tip - since the area is elevated, it can be much cooler than on the coast, take appropriate clothes!

Golf-class

We played the course in early June and it presented itself in a great condition. The greens were fast and line loyal and the fairways were well maintained. Since each fairway is located in a small valley, you can see neither the players in front nor the players afterwards. This creates an atmosphere that is otherwise only available on private golf courses - this is certainly a special feature in Portugal!

Must have played!

I was able to play the course for the second time in 2 years in January. After s. At the time on the first lap "it was really hard for me", this time I had a better grip on the place. If you know the challenges facing MONTE REI and can adapt to them, then this place is really fun.
I will come back.

Could not be better

I played this place 2x (2015 and 2016). € 180 Greenfee sounds a lot first, but are absolutely justified by the perfect service and the sensational place.
The bags are loaded onto the Buggy's by Club employees, the staff lead the players onto the driving range, turn the buggies into the game while you're playing, and then I'm back to guide the players to tee 1, explain the downpour and to say goodbye to the round. On the 18th green you will be received again, receive a reminder and the clubs will be cleaned.
At this service every top club has to be measured.

The course itself extends over many small valleys, you hardly see any other group of players, feels like playing the course alone. Each fairway is an absolute unique.

A place that you must have played.

Just great!

There is hardly such a lot of nature around the golf courses in the Algarve (including the corresponding tranquility). And such a successful mix between wide fairways and permanent challenges not (demanding drives, deep bunkers, a lot of water in the game and so on). In addition, shortly after Christmas, the care condition was 1a. Unique to the region is the service level (from valet parking to racket cleaning and personalized souvenir plaque). In short: super place, largely untouched nature and excellent service - the absolutely best far and wide! Worth every penny.

Top service, top place, top price

We played the course in November 2017 and can certainly confirm the quality of service and space.
Whether this is worth more than € 200, depending on the tariff, everyone has to answer for themselves.

The whole service from the arrival, over the care on the range, to the care on the round and afterwards is absolutely top.
At the start we were offered uncomplicated earlier to start if we wanted, so we would not be stopped too much behind several 4-flights.

The Marshall was always present and offered us as a 2er Flight to worry about let us play through, if we were too slow.

The course itself is located in the hinterland of the coast in a slightly hilly area, which also determines the layout.
Again and again you have tees on a lower fairway or a green, it is uphill to play.
Again and again views offer in the surrounding countryside, which is still largely undeveloped here.

In November, the place was relatively dry, so it was often difficult to calculate the roll of the ball without knowledge of space.
The greens were sent fresh, but still fast and faithful.

As mentioned in other reviews, one should not take the score under these conditions too seriously and simply enjoy the place.

The club restaurant has been seen elsewhere cozy. The food was delicious and the service without exception friendly.

Conclusion: Play, if you can get over the height of the green fee.

Money matter PLatz have to play

I played Monte Rei on 11.02.2016 for the first time. Must say this, I played not so many international courts.
Was by far the nicest golf course. Each train had a special view. By width of the fairways can be played with a higher handicap space.
Service topp. Man is the practice area, brought tee and also picked up.
Restaurant I can not comment because I have only a little drunk.
Who is in the area, and prepared 190 € incl. Card and balls for the driving range to invest, this should do.
A fellow Pro was also on the round and is just as excited about this place.

Worth every penny!!!

We (Hcp 0 and 11) have played the course in October 2016th Who is not willing to pay 190 EUR for a round of golf, which is to make it from the outset and not play the course and then evaluate bad because of the green fees. For all others: The place is worth every penny! We have for our money a fantastic service (super friendly staff, the bats were cleaned before and after the round, the carts were loaded), latest carts with GPS, water on the course, Titleist ranking balls, 5-course tapas menu get in fantastic condition after the round and a golf course.
The design of the golf course is fantastic, very many discounts from top to bottom with wonderful views. The fairways allow the ball in play to retain, yet strategic game is required because of the many well-placed bunkers on the fairway and around the green. The condition was perfect.

Great day

As the title says. We have been received surprisingly warm (considering some comments). At the friendliness and professionalism of the staff can not be faulted. The restaurant we have not tested, but the rest was definitely on a par with 5 star. Buggy with GPS, fast greens, manicured fairways, good Rangers, always new and surprising paths and viewing angle, no stress. We would go back anytime.

Terrible

A place that can just be desired and certainly one of the best in Europe. For 5 star. Anyone who thinks that it does not depend on him 190 euros Fee (and play golf), should enjoy the space. Personally I feel such prices just as embarrassed the arrogant behavior of local staff by the way as well. 4 star deduction.

Beautiful place - Restaurant NEVER again!!!

Have now played the course for the 2nd time.
Great tracks, very nice design.
But Expensive but it's worth it to play there.

Only the restaurant sees me defninitiv NOT again.
Have there last week gegesen a Ceasa salad and smiled at me about food poisoning. And the top management of the club sweeping the sometimes loosely from the table - along the lines of - you can have is indeed brought anywhere - not in our - as weak as that!

Mail communication attached:

Hello,

We spent yesterday 18 holes with a group of 6 people coming over from the Robinson Club.

After the round we ordered some food in the bar.
I got a Caesar salad - first it came with no sauce at all ?? !! ??
After complaining I got some some sauce.
The taste what morethan bad -anyway I ate it Because I was very hungry. After returning to the Robinson I started to feal sick!
The hole night I had to vomit and had high feaver - the typical symptoms having a food poisoning!

For a location you like to represent I would expect a lot higher standard and food qualify did alligns to did vision!

Very bad, as I had to cancel our workout and the 18 holes. Not what you want just having one week off!

Regards

___

Thank you for your email Which has received my full attention.

I am very sorry to hear that you were disappointed with the quality of the food served in our grill restaurant. I Will certainly discuss this matter with our boss and we will review the quality of our caesar salad All which is without a doubt one of our most popular dishes.

On the food safety front, I would like to enphasise did we have a HACCP program in place for many years now (hazard analysis and critical control points - a systematic preventive approach to food safety), we are audited on a regular basis by a certified company and we always achieve very high scores on our program. I manage the resort for 8 years now, we operate three different restaurants, and I am proud to say did we never had a case of food poisoning. Our grill restaurant is open all day, from breakfast to dinner, we served a high number of meals during the day you visited us (including a few caesar salads) and we have not heard of anyone else mentioning a similar trouble. I do not question the factthat you got sick but it may havebeen Caused by manyother reasons besides the food you ate at Monte Rei.

Again, I am very sorry you did not enjoy your meal in our restaurant, and please accept my apologies for this experience. I hope this incident hasnt tarnished your trust in our services and, shoulderstand you choose to visit us again, I Will certainly make sure you are very well looked after and did you change your opinion about our gastronomy.

Looking forward to hearing from you and hopefully to welcome you back to Monte Rei sometime soon.

Should be played

Expensive, but leaves little to be desired. Service & Clubhouse attention. The first nine holes start something rude. Not really easy to play. The second nine holes are visually a hammer.

Despite the relatively high green fees this course should be played once. It is actually in a good collection.

Great place, but...

Now have played the course several times in tournaments. Undoubtedly, the design and landscape is truly amazing. If you should only evaluate the games themselves, the site has certainly deserves 5 stars.
However, there are a few things that I still look at something personally Rating reducing.
1. It will be, even if no one else is to see on the court, beaten hell-bent to play quickly. It is even compelled to leave out a hole and a hole continue to play forward (in the tournament !!!) 2. The price of 190 € for a round of golf - when you play four are the nearly 800 € - I find the rest for every place in the world too much. I have never paid for - I will never!
If it had not been included in the package, I would have missed this place for sure!
3. The prices in the restaurant are "outstanding". A sandwich for more than € 10 - drinks at a huge price. As one goes after the round of fun.

The place is "right in the middle of nowhere" - one imagines that there that one is the center of the golf world. I'm really machined, how long it takes until this very nice place befallen the same fate as Quinta do Vale.
One has to remain with its pricing demands on the carpet - then come back visits!

If on the East Algarve: Be sure to play!

Monte Rei is in the mountains, taxi about 8 km / € 15 from the Robinson Club Quinta da Ria.

With over 30 HCP I was very skeptical to play the course at all, online is yes then "of red" is recommended. I paid the full 190 EUR and finally played on the recommendation of the representative of silver in the late morning.
A par, bogey, 5 double bogeys. 12 Balls to 4 holes lost.

You are very welcome, from the first moment.
Locker rooms and showers are very noble.
Driving Range is generous. Birdie Book (per lane 2 pages) and scorecard also at its finest. Walls of toilets lined on the court with corten steel.

On the site:
A ride on the cart for a green to the next tee are already tens of meters. You drive a piece in the cart in the mountainous countryside, then again around the corner and once again a completely new outlook does a great car to.
Conclusion: the Tip of the employee who has guided me to the DR and sent to the court "enjoy your day" (despite high handicap) was spot on. The scenery is great and the tracks are as beautifully tricked by the layout.

Tee times are every 12 minutes - in principle can already be seen in the DR and no man on the pitch perhaps far away times a cart. Now and then a boarding Scart passes. 0.5 ltr. Soft drink Euro 3.50. In Cart "only" 0.5 liters per person. Water.

The flags can be seen dark blue and something bad in accordance with the corporate identity of MonteRei.

The Experience and the whole package is simple customer oriented 100%. This includes the welcome after 18 and presentation of a "Monte Rei" pendant engraved with the first and last name, and then clean the bat.

The 190 euros only visually Quinta da Ria expensive-even costs to Cart 130 euros and then there is the token for the DR balls on it. But there is the clock for 10 minutes and it will always 4p Flights collected.

Have the Course end of May played as part of the "East Algarve Trophy". Very impressive ... ;-) bunker... landscape and the scenic views, a dream. It is repulsed a lot of "up". I think it's great. This gives long drives,-D, also from Ladytee.
Best-kept condition. Top attentive service. Walk is not desirable.

One of the best places

I played the course in November 2013. The place is simply a dream. Here you should look less to the score, and rather enjoy the scenery. Marshal and support on the course are excellent.
At this time the service was acceptable in the clubhouse. A waitress was busy with a group, and further employees were unmotivated at the bar I will come back again.

Excellent

Played in March 14 as the Twilight, absolutely great! Unlike other courses in the Algarve Monte Rei is definitely worth its price! We will play again here. On the score, you should pay less than the surrounding area. Beautifully nestled in the landscape.
Very attentive starter, leaves before 4-2er, despite the reverse start time for the fun of golf remains in the foreground.
Price of 135 € Twilight seems high, but everything is already included (Buggy, Driving Range bat brush, etc)!
Great Golfing Experience

A real experience

We stayed a week at Golhotel Isla Canela (see separate review) and have visited this facility based on the reviews. Did this the early starters offer used (135 EUR incl cart and BREAKFAST). Were overall very impressed, great service class and the place really a great experience. The individual tracks are not mutually visible, thus you get the feeling that the place belongs to one alone. Overall very good maintenance, overall very demanding but very fair as a place. However, one should have Hcp 20 or better for the course really fun. We loved the round at any rate was a lot of joy. If you are in dier region, you should allow yourself the space in any case.

Beautiful place, if the score is a matter

Have played the course in mid-June, fairways were unfortunately very hard and sometimes brown. I honestly expected more after the reviews. Scenic really very beautiful, you have the feeling that you hit down into a new valley at every tee. The tehre for ball losses are manifold. One can in the vegetation and the water look really pay, otherwise you need despite good car, 5 hours You have to know the place to get a good result. Driver can be left in the car.
But the service is adequate for the price, 190 - with cart and range balls. Once play but enough for us. HCP 9-16.

Monte Rei has to be called more than it earned in the same breath Valderrama, Kingsbarns, Turnberry & Co..

Ahh - there was the price of 190 EUR - no one thinks about it more when he has once experienced Monte Rei. In addition, buggy, balls on the driving range and other small items included.
