Characteristics

Famous as the “Brazilan Califórnia”, Ribeirão Preto is one of the richest cities in Brazil. Different from Silicon Valley, , this city thrives due to the production of sugar and alcohol fuel. The only golf course in the city, Ipê Golf Club started being constructed in 1999 by executives who were tired of travelling to practice their favourite sport. The first 9 holes were built in 2001; the second 9, in 2003.

The course is frequently visited by business people and farmers from the region. The club is restricted to members and their guests.
