On January 16, 1906, the Hamburger Golf-Club was founded in Hamburg's "Patriotic Building". From 1928 to 1930, the world-famous golf-course architects Colt, Alison, and Morrison created a masterpiece of English golf architecture on the club's premises that still exists today.

In a very elegant setting golf here is civilized affair with distinct disclain for the ostentatius. Although there is a plesantly old-fashioned feel to the course, maintenance is definitely modern and probably the best in the region, I guess. This is my cup of tea where you have to bring all your shots and a few more.

Honestly, I went with great expectations of Germany's No. 1 golf and was a little disappointed. Yes, the place is beautiful, the location quiet, amazing and care of the environment state (except for the greens on April 23,2012) well. But why this should be Germany's most beautiful place, is not really open up to me as "normal golfer." Possibly. acts of the court, when the heather blooms impressive. I personally (I have to admit, I'm not a fan Parkland) water hazards such as missing or doglegs. Most trains go straight, have some "deep" bunker and that was it. Even the most elevated tees and greens do not break out in my opinion. The place is way hillier than you might think, what sometimes requires one or the other blind blow. For HC the high court because of trees and the resulting occasional narrow lanes is certainly not suitable. As I said, the greens had some shortcomings, so the 80 was - to 60, - € reduced green fees reasonable. A special praise goes to the club secretary. The lady at the counter was very friendly and accommodating. The club house and the bathroom facilities are also unfortunately was not necessarily a guide to the most modern stand the restaurant.
