Clube de Golfe de Brasília

St. de Clubes Esportivos Sul Trecho 2 Lote 17 - Asa Sul, 70200-002 Brasília, Brazil

Characteristics

Golf players who visit Brasília will have much more to visit than just the government buildings designed by one of the world’s most famous Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer: Clube de Golfe de Brasília is a mandatory stop for golf lovers. The only golf course in the Nation's capital was designed by Robert Trent Jones and constructed in 1964. Some of its holes run along Paranoá Lake, with a great view of the Juscelino Kubitschek Bridge. The most outstanding views you get from the 16th hole, a 488 yard par 5, with the green just before the lake; and the 17th, a 206 yard par 3 which runs right along the water's edge.

During Brazil's autumn, winter and fall, when there is little rain in this area, the fairways of the course become extremely dry. On the one hand, this is quite positive, since it helps the ball to run further; on the other hand, it demands a more careful club selection in order to reach and stay on the greens. The access to the course is restricted to members and their guests. The driving range of Clube de Golfe de Brasília, which is floodlit, is open to visitors .
