Secção Glória II CP 250., 17690-000 Bastos, Brazil

Characteristics

Currently famous as “ Egg Land”, Bastos is the town with the largest production of eggs in Brazil, with over a hundred chicken farms and a hundred million chickens. The town was founded in order to accommodate many of the Japanese immigrants who came to work in agriculture.

The strong presence of the Japanese community in the town led to the construction of the golf course, opened in 1971 initially with 9 holes, and soon expanded to the present 18 holes. Here, golf features as one of the favourite sports, admired by the Japanese and their descendants, along with baseball and judo.

Bastos Golf Club is set within a region of rich flora and fauna, and blessed with warm weather. This is the training place of Ronaldo Francisco, leader in the Associação Brasileira dos Profissionais de Golfe ranking in 2007. Francisco is also the instructor of most of the 480 members of the club.
