Zwartkops - A perfect day for golf.

I love Zwartkops, the course meanders around a river which makes the play tough and quite challenging. but four relatively easy par 5's make it very enjoyable. The Hospitality is excellent and the course boasts one of the best Pro Shop's in South Africa, the course is owned and managed by Dale Hayes and his experience in the golf industry shines through. The Summer rains can however sometimes cause the river to flood which can and often does cause irreparable damage to the course, and this in turn sometimes causes the course to be closed for play for lengthy periods of time. The course is busy so book first and enjoy.

Lots of garbage, unkempt and smelly

The entrance area was promising. But we have never played on such an unkempt course. The paths to the tees were partly through tall, overgrown grass and over bridges that were completely littered. The river that you cross from time to time is incredibly smelly, full of rubbish and has foamy elements. The fairways, especially from holes 8 to 9, are also dirty.
It's a real shame and incomprehensible that such a beautiful facility has fallen into such disrepair. Never again. Fortunately, there are some very nice places to choose from around Pretoria.
