Leading golf close to PLZ

I was back at Wedgewood on the 19th. Feb. 2018 and mentioned much more improvement than expected. The greens have been the best so far --
I was 6 weeks on the road -even compared with Simola, Pezula and St. Francis, that means a lot!
I am wondering, that this course seems not to be on the radar of the foreign golfers, but this can change quickly, as many other courses are fully booked this season.
I can highly recommend to play at Wedgewood.

Unfortunately the describtion in the ALBRECHT GOLF GUIDE is totally wrong. This course has been reopend 4 years ago, and is on the way to become a leading golf course. Perfect maintenance, new clubhouse build to meet the african style and modern architecture.
I played this course every year since 2015 and I will be back in 2018.
There is no driving range, but a nice putting green in front of the club house terrace.

Course played on March 3,2025. In our opinion, clearly the best and most beautiful 18-hole course in Port Elizabeth.
Slightly hilly, with lots of variety, water hazards and bunkers strategically placed, sometimes quite challenging.
Condition of fairways and bunkers: very good. Greens: perfect, true to the course and fast.
The only drawback: the individual tracks are missing labels. Conclusion: we would go back any time!

I cannot share the enthusiasm of the evaluators. Yes, it can be a great place!! But it is not yet.
We already had problems with the reservation, after 3 emails without answer I wrote to the manager, then I got an answer.
The clubhouse is new and well designed. The fairways are still pretty bad, the greens for the most part in good condition. The course is varied and not boring.
I am sure that if more houses are built and sold in the estate there will be money to invest in the golf course. This is definitely one of the best golf courses in PE, but that doesn't mean much.

Played on 21.2.18 for 260 Rand. The bunkers and the greens are an absolute dream! The fairways are allowed to grow a bit, become denser. Very varied, the second nine a little hilly. Fast greens. Hole 9 and 18 each defended with a water. The houses under construction, relatively far from the fairways, suggest that much is planned here. Zz is worth a further journey.
