Characteristics
The high quality course design provides varying challenges for the golfer. Several good scoring opportunities exist over the neat and alluring front nine, particularly on the shorter par fours. However, this should not lead to complacency! The acclaimed back nine at Water Rock, where water comes into play during no less than five holes is a real test of character and golfing skill.
The signature hole is the 240 yard par 3 on the 12th, known locally as "Swan Lake". This truly magnificent par three provides the golfer with the intimidating prospect of a 200 yard carry over water from the back tee and has been described Course Overview Image as one of the best 50 holes in Europe.
The climax to the round comes as the superb sequence of finishing holes designed around three lakes, culminating in the outstanding par four on the 18th hole played uphill into the prevailing wind.

Best pay and play course in the country, surely.

As a regular player of Waterrock, I feel obliged to make golfers aware of the quality of this fantastic golf course. This course is ideally suited to the beginner (yellow markers), and the seasoned golfer, (white or blue markers).
The signature hole "Swan Lake" 12th par 3, being 219yds off the white markers, 240 off the blue, is the best par 3 I have ever played in my 23 years golfing. The back 9 alone would grace any golf course in the country. This beautifully maintained golf course is a MUST for all golfers.
